True Detective (2014– )
10/10
For S1 & 3 Only!
24 June 2022
Season 1 is about as close as you can get to TV perfection. The performances by both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are excellently superb. The first installment of True Detective is one of those shows that stays with you after the finale and you think back on the experience of watching greatness.

Season 2 was so bad, I couldn't get through the second episode...1/10

Season 3 Although the storyline is not as engaging or exciting as the first season, what really shines in this season is the outstanding performance given by Mahershala Ali. He elevates the story to make season 3 a top notch watch. He deserved the Emmy nom he received for his role. He also deserved to have won it though sadly he did not.

Ozark: Fire Pink (2020)
Season 3, Episode 9
10/10
Wow.
4 July 2021
This episode of Ozark was directed by Alik Sakharov who also directed The Sopranos "Long Term Parking" which IMO, is the best episode of that fantastic series.

Tom Pelphrey's cab monologue in the beginning of this episode should have won an Emmy on it's own. Both his and Laura Linney's performances are heartbreakingly superb. I see reviews stating how annoying Ben's character has been throughout season 3. I think what people are really saying is that mental illness and mania are "annoying". Which they are. They are most "annoying" to the person suffering them. Especially when you see how your words or actions has affected someone you love but you're unable to stop yourself from saying or doing them. Untreated, mental disorders will compel you to do the things YOU KNOW you shouldn't do but do anyway. To be impulsive time after time without clearly thinking through the consequences each of those times. So yeah, I believe the writers got it right here and Pelphrey did an outstanding job bringing Ben's character to life. Exceptional episode in an already phenomenal series.

Lost (2004–2010)
10/10
One of the best if not the best TV shows ever made
2 June 2021
When someone asks what my favorite TV show of all time is, the answer is always LOST. You just can't beat this show for the unique premise, the interwoven character backgrounds, directing and superb acting. It is one of those iconic shows that stands the test of time. If you can believe it, I waited 2 months to watch the finale, keeping it on my DVR because I literally could not face the show being over. It really is one of those one in a lifetime shows that stays with you and you think back on. I've rewatched the entire series once..."We have to go back!" and it did not disappoint the second time around. If you have not seen LOST, do yourself a favor and jump in. It is one hell of a fantastic ride.

Mike Epps: Only One Mike (2019 TV Special)
9/10
Classic Mike Epps
8 May 2021
I love Mike Epps. This special did not disappoint. I don't know what show some of these reviewers watched but it definitely wasn't Only One Mike if they thought it wasn't funny. Also here's a tip if you are offended by crude language and cursing in a comedy special...research the comedian first. I think some people just like to be outraged for the sake of it so they can complain.

Sharp Objects (2018)
10/10
Haunting, disturbing and beautiful miniseries
7 May 2021
You can literally feel the intense emotions in this HBO series. Pain, hurt, desperation, disbelief, loneliness, disgust, shame...Life is messy and it's on full display here. Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson and Eliza Scanlen are absolute perfection in their roles. Sharp Objects is a psychological thriller with a slow burn and it's worth every single minute.

Just great stand up!
7 May 2021
I saw this in the theaters when it came out in 2000. It's still just as funny 21 years later. I'm seriously laughing at all the offended, pearl clutching white people in the reviews. If Black comedians making racial jokes at the expense of white people during a set upsets you so much, it says way more about you than them. And I say this as a lily white woman in her 40's.

One of the legendary stand up acts of all time
7 May 2021
This is one of my favorite stand up acts of all time. It's hilarious from beginning to end. Dave Chappelle is an excellent storyteller which makes the punchlines even funnier. My husband and I still quote his act 20 some years later. If you don't know Chappelle before his Comedy Central show or Netflix specials, this is a must watch.
