Evil (2019)
Love this show
This show is unique and gives several points of view on what's evil. But, the one very irritating aspect of this show, is her 4 daughters who are always loud and yelling over each other. It's obnoxious. I me the tv when they appear.
Good Witch: The Wedding (2021)
Disappointing
This final episode felt rushed. Trying to tie up to many story lines in a 45 minute window. Joy's storyline could have been skipped for more of Abigail's, whom we've spent many more seasons with.
Clarice (2021)
Better than I hoped for
At first her accent bugged me. It was overdone, but you get used to it. The story started out slightly confusing until you realize where we are in the timeline. This starts right after Silence of the Lambs. So Clarice is developing as an agent in the bureau, while solving more twisted cases. The long series story was even creepier than I had imagined. Looking forward to the next season.
Death and Nightingales (2018)
So slow
Expected more from this. It was so slow, weak base story. And needed closed captioning to understand most of what they were saying. But what really blew it was that WTF ending!? Wasted 3 hours of my day ....
Secrets in the Snow (2020)
Horrible
Absolutely awful acting. The story could have worked, but the worse than a lifetime movie acting sank this right to the bottom of the frozen lake.
The Luminaries (2020)
Good drama ..... No
If you like historical fiction you might like this. But it's certainly not as advertised. Grifters, racists, violence, and a plot that flicks back n forth in the timeline. I didn't see any adventure, just a horrible life in an unforgiving, ugly time in history. And the mystical angle fell completely flat.
Synchronic (2019)
Sadly underdeveloped
The story, in theory could have been very fascinating. But it feels like the writers just gave up and put out something like it was an overdue science project for school and they no longer cared what grade they got.
The Little Things (2021)
Not what i was hoping for
This more "true detective" like, and less serial killer. Slow and boring. But kudos to Jared Leto, he was unrecognizable and really became the villain.
The Turning (2020)
Waste of time
Complete waste of time with a weak ending, and no true plot.
The Flight Attendant (2020)
"Penny" as a flight attendant ....
It was funny at first, now it's just ridiculous. They just took the "penny" character and turned her into an even drunker flight attendant playing Nancy Drew. I'm bored, won't finish this series. Glad i didn't sign up for HBO Max ....
Helstrom (2020)
Demon? Or no?
Runs along the same line of EVIL, but i think this series is better. Very interesting demons with back stories. Or are they really demons?
The Lie (2018)
Underdeveloped
This has promise, but the storyline wasn't developed enough. I have it an 8 based on the ending
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Snoozefest
So slow and boring. The ghost story aspect could have been way better. Then for it just to turn into a suicidal love story. Big waste of my day, i feel asleep several times.
Hightown (2020)
Cliche characters
Stereotypical characters. Unoriginal story. Didn't make it past episode 2.
Underwater (2020)
Just poorly everything
Interesting premise, but ...
Poor execution
Poorly filmed
Poorly chosen cast
The Disappearance of the Millbrook Twins (2019)
2 hours of wasted time
2 hours of wasted time. Nothing was resolved, no new info, the same response from police. And they stretched all of that into 2 hours. The 2 "narrators" of this show spent a lot of time on camera "contemplating" things. I saw no real detective work happening. I feel sorry for the twins family if they got their hopes up that these 2 would be able to help them.
In the Tall Grass (2019)
Disappointing
Under developed storyline. Good enough to kill time on a weekend.
Absentia (2017)
2nd season miss
The 1st season was amazing, had a unique storyline, a puzzle to solve, an intriguing characters. Skip 2 years forward to this season and it's lost its spark, I was bored halfway through it and stopped watching.
Carnival Row (2019)
Puzzling
I'm in the middle between regretting watching it and happy I watched it. The storyline is a bit confusing. And I had to turn on closed captioning to be able to understand most of what they said due to the accents and the made up languages. I feel like the story was underdeveloped in leu of showcasing the multitude of mythical species. Not sure I'll watch a second season.
In the Dark (2019)
Surprise hit
Crazy cast of characters. Really funny stuff mixed in with a mystery and murder to tie it all together.
Another Life (2019)
Pitch black meets lost in space
Good premise, poorly executed. I gave up halfway thru when, after all the horrible encounters and life threatening events while lost in space, everyone starts "hooking" up. Netflix originals are starting to become rushed and underdeveloped.
After (2019)
Not a total train wreck
Being firmly in the 'the book is always better' camp, I will say it wasn't the worst adaptation I've ever watched (twilight series). This movie did capture the essential topic that started the series. The bet. But as with all movies, trying to turn the pages and pages of inner and outer dialogue into a 90 minute movie is impossible. Anna Todd put her heart and soul into this series. I wish they had transferred that into this movie.
Dark (2017)
Confusing and captivating
Just finished season 2, and even though parts are still confusing to me, I really like the " puzzle" aspect of it. Trying to understand all the timelines and players keeps my interest even while I get used to the English dubbing. Can't wait to see how all this comes together.
Out of the Dark (2014)
Flawed and underdeveloped
The premise was good, but poor execution. No subtitles for foreign dialogue, a "British" speaking child to American parents. Overall it was just chaotic.
