You (2018)
Kudos!
A story somewhat in the tradition of Gone Girl, you start wondering who is the real psycho here and how much each character is creating the story or delusion. The book "You" took me by surprise and this series did it justice. Whenever a writer can get me to empathize with the deeply flawed protagonist (for example: Dexter, or Humbert Humbert in Lolita) I believe the writer has peeked in the nature of obsession and human nature. Netflix did a great job of creating the atmosphere of the bookstore, Beck's mercurial personality and rudderless life/morals, Joe's naive but also sophisticated insight. I appreciate how each character can be viewed through a different lens and yield a different person. In the Netflix series I was more aware of numerous plot holes that furthered the plot (her apt on a ground floor with huge window in NYC, the protagonist's range of skills, for example irked me, but I quibble). I await with bated breath Season 2!
