Soft & Quiet (2022)
I liked it for some reason
I got it at the beginning what these women were. The sign on the pie gave it away. And then I figured the makers were trying to switch female and male roles. Making the male so stiflingly weak and easily overwhelmed (like a woman) and the lead female so abhorrently over-bearing and booring (like a man). I don't mean to be sexist but it seemed like a twist on normal male female behaviors. If that's what the makers were going for okay. But sorry women don't do this. Women think things through and don't act on such inane impulse. Not saying women can't be impulsive but good lord no, not like this. This is man territory. Sorry guys.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
Absolutely Adorable
I was looking for a horror film to watch on a lazy Thursday night and came upon this gem. It had me hooked from the beginning. I know, the usual haunted house thing is a bit tired but it became a lot more. Strong acting, good chemistry. Could be good for kids to see if you don't mind a few tame swear words. It was exciting, complete with car chases and governmental intrigue. Dave Harbour is brilliant. Tig Notaro is wonderful. Jennifer Coolidge is forever perfect. I liked the importance of family togetherness as the theme in the end on both the living and the not so living. Please give it a watch.
The Patient (2022)
No reality here
I gave it a real chance. But I couldn't take anymore after the unnecessary lesbian scene only included for male titillation. I'm used to that by now. But come on, Doctor Expert, please tell this patient that everyone gets embarrassed and made to feel uncomfortable by idiots in our daily lives. What we do is go home, cry, and go back to work the next day. And yes some people are beaten daily by our fathers and yet somehow we avoid killing innocent people after work. If he were a real clinical psychologist he would tell the guy his mother was an enabler because she feels responsible for watching her husband brutalize her child for years. Oh now she wants to protect him. Where were you then mommy? Give me a break. I wanted reality and got substandard dialogue, wooden acting and mean girls in a high school. Really?
Hellarious (2019)
Brilliant!
This you gotta see. Had me in stitches many times throughout. Easily the funniest was with the husbands. I just couldn't stop laughing. Maybe it's the reef but this thing was a blast. You will have a good time.
