The Cold Light of Day (2012)
Is it worth the watch
Watched this after seeing it almost every where, it has a promising start, a young man suddenly don't see his family after he left them and he needs to find them.
But half way through I was starting to think is this supposed to also be some kind of a comedy movie? The acting and some facial expressions just dint belong in a movie like this.
Is it the worst thing out there? No. Is it worth the time to see? Meh if you have time to waste.
I'm a bit surprised actually as it has some pretty big names so I originally thought it mast be great if they were starring it, but apparently good actors doesn't save the movie if it has bad writing.
Apostle (2018)
Meh
The movie had great premise, a guy going into an island to rescue his sister from weird cult, so far is good, I knew that there would be some type of witchery in this but it was disappointing, the story is kinda messy and there was no time to get to know the characters, I wished they had taken some time to show something more put together.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Good sequel
I was anticipating this sequel ever since it was announced, I had the false idea that it would be more focused on the beginning of the first one and how things went bad, or at least that they'd switch between the past and the present.
The movie is good and had some really good scare jumps, but I felt like it needed more.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
Pretty decent till the end
This is the kind of movie you put on because you have nothing else to watch, midway through you start to like it and get hooked, is Haward a good man and telling the truth or is he just crazy, but you reach the end and it was one big disappointment, it could've been amazing otherwise.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Not the greatest
To be honest, not the greatest movie, especially comparing it to it's first one, it was decent.
Also, you can tell right away that they had another director. I wished they showed us more of Arnie and less of the Warrens, like the previous two movies main focus were the possessors and I wanted to see that in this one, but I guess not.
Over all it was good for wasting time, but for one time only as I don't think I'll ever rewatch it.
Ouija (2014)
Not the greatest
This movie was basically made fore 12 years old, the scare jumps, the acting, the script is perfect for people of young age that are just getting into horror movies.
Cloverfield (2008)
Refreshing
Although I was a bit apprehensive at start when I realized the way it was shot but I decided to give it a chance and I am glad I did.
The first like 15 minutes of the movies is kinda slow and boring and I really considered skipping but hold myself back. I like how the characters kinda move on and dont take stupid long period of time just looking into the nothing just because they heard a voice, kinda was pissed that the whole point is just to go back to save Rob girlfriend but whatever.
The jump scare were perfect and I totally got so into the movie that I start shouting instructions and that something I didn't do for a long time now. Totally recommend
Anne: The Better Feelings of My Heart (2019)
not satisficed
I've watched this show in one setting and I fell in love it, but the ending - for me- was disappointing. Everything was so rushed to be over, and it don't help that they tried to solve everything toward the end, like magically Diana's parents let her go to where ever she wants? and ka-kwet is missing a piece, likes what happened to her? and I felt like coming back to her Anne parents was unnecessary bc it truly showed how rushed they were trying to tie everything together but bc of it they made many mistakes.
I wish that we were had at least given longer time, to tie everything together better than this, it's a shame that a show aimed for young people and have really good massage get cancelled while other meaningless shows that have tp moral massage seize to exist
Mulan (2020)
I had low expectations and it was lower than that
I am fond of the original Mulan and when I heard that they are making a live action remake I was.. Curious? Kinda didn't want them to make one because live action remaked aren't always that great.
Man, was I disappointed by this.
First, they cut mushu for some reason, but then add this Phoenix as what? Replacement? And I don't want to start about this whole witchy thing that I found completely unnecessary and waste of time, is this Mulan or Harry Potter?
I thought that the reveal of Mulan truth identity will be at least dramatic and like this "oh God nooo" moment but it. Was. The. Most. Boring. Thing, and that saying a lot for this movie.
Also the whole action sequence is so unrealistic, like doing back flip on top of a horse? They made the animation looks more realistic that this one.
Peaky Blinders: Mr. Jones (2019)
Not the greatest
I had Bing watched all 5 seasons in 3 days, and when I started this new one I immediately knew that something is different.
To me this season was bad, and I had hoped that the finale would pay off but, I was disappointed with it.
In the previous seasons, the finales were always great ending to a great season, but this one is just talk and no action! And I hated that.
This whole season is screaming "Netflix made it!" by many ways and it miss the it factor that had many people hooked on the show.
I'm still coming back for season 6, but I pray that it would be better than this
Annabelle: Creation (2017)
much more greater than Annabelle
During this quarantine, I decided to have a marathon and watch all 3 Annabelle movies, and I must say that I like this one much better than the first.
I liked the story line of this one, and I thought Janice would be the heroine but man, was I wrong. It had a lot more jump scare than the first one and I liked that because it kept you on the edge of your seat, not knowing when the next one is coming.
I thought the dad would have a much bigger role than he did.
The pace of the movie was perfect as it went without you noticing.
over all, there is much more improvment than the first one
Annabelle (2014)
not a great horror movie, but not the worst out there
The movie started out good, but half way through it seems to go downhill.
I liked the scare jump, but wished it has more..horror to it.
the acting was good too, but to me, in the last 45 minutes it look like everyone was drained and that they didn't do their best, even in the moments when we 'have' to feel sympathetic towards the mother, I didnt because it doesn't look like she really wanted to save her daughter, and the the way it was filmed too, I'd have given it a pass if it was made in 90's or even early to mid 00's , but it was in 2014..
all in all, it was a good movie, great to pass time ''espically now we all in quarantine''.
The Mist (2007)
not that good
I had high expectation for this one, people recommend it to me or -somehow- it'd pop out on my feed so I knew I must watch it.
well, I didn't like it. The camera work is -and I'm trying to be nice- is bad, the acting isnt that great too. I liked the plot if it would've only stayed around the mystery mist that causes people to die. -I know it has been done a thousands of times-.
I alos hated the ending
The Walking Dead: The World Before (2019)
My opinion
Mid season final in the walking dead are always mind blowing, you know amazing is happening and it's the episode where you know a loved a character will die. Not this time.
This season mid final wasn't the best, the only "major" death that happened is Dante and he wasn't that of importance, not a lot of action.
So, it wasn't the best episode ever, but it wasn't the worse either
Ma (2019)
not a bad movie, but not great either
The begging is slow but good, you get to see how MA is really is half way there, but the towards the end it took began to be bad, the acting suddenly got worse, didn't really like the torturing scene, to me they could have done it a lot better. It's such a shame because it has potentials to actually be good
