Uncharted (2022)
Good start for more.
This was a good first movie made from a videogame. Let's face it this is an origin story, the characters are younger. It's not going to be exactly like the games.
But in my opinion it had enough in common with them to make it an uncharted movie. And like most I was kind of puzzled about Tom holand and mark in the roles before seeing the movie. But if you can get over their ages and see them as less experienced younger versions, I think it works.
I had a fun and exciting time watching this movie and I hope they make more, they can flesh out the characters and build the world. Origin stories are always hard. But this was good.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
Finally a star trek series with potential
After only seeing the pilot it is hard to see the worth of the entire series but I have to say this is the first star trek since enterprise that has the "star trek" feeling and has a message of exploration, hope and progress instead of an action filled dystopian nightmare.
And in my opinion that is exactly what Sci-Fi shows have needed for a long time. I'm sick of dark sci-fi, I want hopeful and feel good sci-fi.
I'm actually exited about star trek again.
The Batman (2022)
Badman
I don't understand why people think this movie is good. It was boring and slow. I honestly could not keep interest in the conversations long enough to feel invested in the plot. Pattinson did a good job as batman, but honestly the movie was way to deep and dramafilled, which is not what you want from a batman movie.
Breach (2020)
Unbelievable
I only half watched this movie, but seriously it's unbelievably bad. Why did Bruce Willis not break his contract to get out of it? He really should have.
I'm amazed how bad one can make a movie.
Love and Monsters (2020)
Family adventure
It's not the most expensive movie, or the best plot but honestly this movie gave me flashbacks to the good old days of family adventure movies.
It has adventure, it has love, it has companionship, it has humour and it keeps you wanting to learn more about the world. It makes you feel good.
I only wish it were longer and I hope they make a sequel.
Into the Night (2020)
They get everything wrong.
Seriously, every scientific thing they can screw up the do. Nothing will make sense.
I mean thats impossible to do if you went to school.
And the acting is so bad you will cringe through the entire series.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
same dark dystopian sci-fi as everything else. not at all star trek!
star trek was about a positive future where we got to see the excitement of exploring new worlds, new species, we got to see them uphold their ideals, and question social norms and outdated political views.
this series is none of that, is the same bland dark dystopian future with war, explosions and action as every other sci-fi show out there these days. if this is what you want sure. but don't call it star trek. call it star wars or something.
i honestly never thought i would say this about star trek, but i find myself not really wanting to start the next episode when it comes out.
if you like star wars and dystopic futures (personally i'm sick of them) then this is for you.
if you want star trek spirit, go see the orville.
The Orville (2017)
Taking up the mantle dropped by star trek.
this series takes up the mantle of what star trek used to be. a sci- fi about a positive future where you get to experience the thrill of new worlds, new aliens, creative science and creative solutions to problems and stabs at social issues and outdated political views.
do you like the positivity of star trek and the humor of stargate sg- 1. or other shows like them. then this is for you.
episode 7...golden!
it brings a fresh change from all the dark dystopian sci-fi shows out there these days. and i find myself looking forward to the next episode every time.
if this series isn't renewed then the world is at a loss.
