Lost Phoenix (2023)

The look and feel of a low budget B movie
13 January 2024
Lost Phoenix has the look and feel of a low budget B movie, and that's not a criticism. There are a lot of people who like those kinds of movies, including me. I applaud the creators for going all in and making this film. It takes a lot of guts and is more than many people even attempt. That being said, there were some continuity issues that were pretty noticeable, such as the warehouse/garage fight scene, and why the mask kept going on and coming off, without a specific reason for doing so. At least one time, he was wearing the mask in one shot, and then in the next shot it was just gone, and there wasn't time for him to have removed it and put it away. There was A LOT of dialogue. But, overall it was a pretty good flick. I see it as a stepping stone with things to learn from for their next film.

Could've been a better series

There was too much story to tell here and not enough space to tell it. It just felt like a lot of almost somethings that turned into nothings. It seems very superficial nothing was explored. Just a bunch of stuff happening g with no further explanation. Even character development was nonexistent. It was as if they through it against a wall to see what stuck, and everything stuck so they used it all, but only a little bit for each thing.

The sound effects were annoying and distracting. A bunch of overused brahm sounds placed where there really was no suspense. It was very distracting.

The choices for some of the camera shots were odd. Didn't flow with or add to the story well.

I can't. I just can't

Saw the first episode, sorta. Mostly kept skipping ahead to see if there was anything good. There wasn't. This is just awful. Who watches this stuff? I'm not a fan of reality shows in general, but this may be the worst I've ever seen.

Disappointing

Why is this rated R? PG-13 is more appropriate. You're not as edgy as you think. Heavy on the cheesy dialogue and lame on the action. There was nudity? Where? All I saw was heavy kissing and a "stripper" in a bathing suit. Maybe you should shoot faith based movies? Those seem more up your alley.

English may have ruined it
13 July 2020
The cinematography and sfx were great. The dubbing was not great. They really could have used better voice actors for the English version. The action was fine. It was kind of cheesy at times. Then the story was all revealed halfway through using the typical bad guy speech. Then it lost me. Then it got more cheesy and I don't understand why that one was on their side? It just got confusing and chaotic for no reason, and then there's the ending. What was up with that?

Again, the cinematography and effects were great.

Oof.

It was alright at first. Then it started to drag on. Then it seemed to be going off the rails just a little with silliness and lack of plot. Then they brought in Jesus and the story took a hard right off a cliff. It's like they just could decide on which way the story should go, so they went in every direction.

Typical action flick

This film had all of the pieces that a formulated Hollywood action movie needs to be successful. That being said, I'm pretty tired of formula action movies out of Hollywood. Garner's acting was great. She is still an A+ actress, but the film was too predictable.

Redeeming qualities???
2 March 2019
Pretentious visual effects obviously intended to make up for the lack of plot and character development. I found myself wishing it would end about half way through. The only redeeming quality I can think of is I've seen worse.
