Four Lions (2010)

Funny twist on a serious topic
27 June 2023
I just watched this film, and I was surprised by how funny it was, even though it deals with a controversial topic. "Four Lions" tells the story of a group of young Muslim men from Sheffield who make a silly decision to become suicide bombers for a cause called jihad. The characters, like Omar and Waj, go through a series of hilarious mishaps at a training camp in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Faisal comes up with a strange idea to train birds to carry bombs. The climax takes place during the London Marathon, where their funny and clumsy attempts to disrupt the event happen while they wear crazy costumes. Despite the serious subject, the film finds humor in the absurdity of their poorly planned scheme.

Hitmen (II) (2023)

LOL That was fun

The mix of humour and tragedy kept me engaged throughout and captures the essence of a thrilling comic book adventure while adding its own twist of tragedy.

The movie follows Luke and Lauren, a couple who get into trouble when a fight leads to the death of a man connected to a powerful CEO. Now, hitmen from different backgrounds come after them because there's a million-dollar contract on their lives.

This film has has plenty of action, blood and bangs to please fans, but what sets it apart is the engaging story and the fun and interesting characters. It's an exciting and well worth a watch.

Reminded me of good old North London at its finest. Great characters fun story and something a little different than what I'm used to watching on all the same streaming sites. Definitely worth a watch.

Excellent low budget indie film

Very real look into London and the drug culture. Enjoyable watch, particularly considering the low budget! Riz Ahmet is fantastic and you can see why he went on to have such a fantastic career.

Writer/Director Eran Creevy's little gem. I am looking forward to seeing his latest project after being left slightly underwhelmed by 'Welcome to the punch'.

Good flick. Very enjoyable watch

I liked it. Made me laugh! Reminded me of my local bookies. Fun, simple story, good acting. Thoroughly enjoyable. My only negative comment would be the level of abusive language. One comment literally made me spit out my coffee! And the lack of female actors. Women gamble too, just ask my Mrs :) Asides from those points really worth a watch.

My All Time favorite Movie

What can I say. In many ways this was the movie of my generation and shape filmmaking for years to come. Entertainment being the most crucial ingredient in this film, it is both funny, sad, gripping and thought provoking. The characters, even the minor ones, are rounded and believable and the directing is just, well it's pure Tarantino :) Amazingly written, acting and produced. For me, the greatest of them all.
