The Iron Lady (2011)

Under delivering and chaotic

As far as biopics go it's not a terrible movie. But it's not the movie you expect from Meryl Streep. The story is told in flashback form, with 'current day' moments sprinkled in between. This is distracting and unnecessary. The added problem with this is that it makes the flashbacks feels rushed. This leads to only the 'highlights' and the human side of the story remains undersold. Could have been a lot better.

A thrill that still holds up almost 60 years later

Watching this movie was a delight. A man comes back from the war, changed. The concept of the movie still holds up today.

The layers of why are uncovered slowly throughout the movie in a way that modern movies can take a few lessons from. Although others movies have emulated the concept, the story still feels original.

The pacing is slow, but not bothersome. Laurence Harvey, Sinatra, Janet Leigh are all great in their performance. All and all a great movie experience.

An ok story, original was better

Not as entertaining as the original in my opinion. It's 'ok', nice to watch on a evening when nothing much else is on. But definitely not memorable.
