The Batman (2022)

Dark, gritty, long and rainy
22 April 2022
Not for me really. Every single action scene was pouring with rain. Every single talkng scene is mumbly with no enthusiasm. There were some cool aspects but I really struggled to stay focused on the dialogue.

George Lucas' Masterpiece
28 April 2020
I thought this was edge of the seat material from the moment the curtains opened. Action from beginning to end, great story line and amazing special effects that still hold up in 2020.

I have just rewatched all 11 movies and my mind still has not changed. Over and over again people reiterate that Empire is the best movie and you are not a true Star Wars fan if you don't agree. Well, I am 45 years old and have seen every movie on its Cinema release date except the original because I was too young. I have always been an avid fan and have rewatched all the movies many times. However, my mind never changes. This is the most exciting film in the whole series. Let's face it the Empire fans have already made up their minds that the next Star Wars film will not be as good before they even see it.

Personally, I always welcome more Star Wars films. The more the better. Keep them coming.

11 hours of colour footage showing the main event of the war
4 February 2020
The video quality has been brought up to a near 1970's quality and after a while you start taking it for granted.

This is an educational series with narration all the way through, in near chronological order with clear maps showing how the front line of the battles moved around europe, Africa and asia.

There has been unfair reviews saying that the series favours the British efforts of the war and perhaps it does as the series was probably compiled in Britain. You have to remember though that they are only covering the footage that they have from the war and Britain was fighting the war in Europe single handedly for a couple of years, whilst fighting in Africa and Asia. The red army probably played a bigger part towards defeating Germany and to be fair this series does cover this quite well in 2 whole episodes.

History buffs will enjoy the footage but criticise small details that are incorrect. However, if you have limited knowledge of the war and the order of some of the main events then this is a good place to start to understand the history.

Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)

What the.......?
21 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
There must be a clever underlying reason for this horse poo of an episode as nobody in their right mind would choose to end like this. The bit where they decide who is king was absolutely bizzare. Maybe Brandon warged in to Jon at the beginning of the season to turn him in to a complete wet drip so that he could be king. FFS, Brandon's back story came to absolutely nothing, All he did during the long night was sit there looking like he was on drugs, why on earth would he be picked to be king and why on earth would Jon be sent to a broken wall to protect it from nothing. Absolutely bizzare.

Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)

Epic but could have been a little more realistic
29 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The end bit with Arya made sense as she had trained for this. It seems impossible for her to get to the NK because bran was surrounded but let's face it she knows Winterfell like the back of her hand so there may have been a way through that we don't know about

I agree with many of the reviews on here though that too many main characters seem to get out of impossible situations. Perhaps it just happened once or twice too many times. I'll be interested to know how many people are still alive. The last few scenes only seemed to show main characters but perhaps there are thousands. Previous GOT episodes have failed to show the scale of armies when battles have ended. Judging by the episode 4 trailor there's enough left to take on King's Landing.

A necessary ending
27 April 2019
Just seen this. Reading some reviews on here before going to the cinema had me worried but I personally give it a thumbs up. Infinity war is still my favourite but this film was necessary to end the story. The 3 hours flew by which is a good indication that the story telling was good.

Many people reviewing on here made it sound like there were flaws and holes in the story but I disagree. Time travel films are always complex and how can anyone argue over a fantasy that is probably not possible anyway. After all, nobody knows whether you would disappear like Marty Mcfly if you were to change your history, do they?

This film is not just closure of the Thanos story but it is also closure for the back storys of some of the main characters.

Heating up
20 April 2019
I just finished re-watching seasons 1-7. The end of 7 had a faster pace then any of the other seasons and finished on the best cliff edge. Things have calmed down a bit now for episode 1 of season 8 but the gathering at Winterfell is obviously getting ready for a large battle. I'm expecting some more twists and turns towards the end of this season.

Much better than expected
26 August 2018
I have not had a huge vested interest in all of the Marvel movies that lead up to this big one but I have seen them all. However I did enjoy the last Thor film and I was suprised how much I liked the last Guardians of the Galaxy film. So that's where I am in all this, I'm not the biggest Marvel fan and can't remember half of what has happened in the last 18 movies but I like elements of them a lot and I do tend to watch them all on bluray release dates.

Infinity War however just sucked me in. I didn't think it was over saturated by the quantity of Characters, somehow it just worked. Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy were introduced in to the story well and although I'm not the biggest Marvel fan I knew what was happening the whole of the time. This is the biggest thing that Marvel has ever done and they weren't afraid to take risks. I also feel that raising the humour level like they are is the right thing to do.

This film ends like no other super hero film has ever ended. When it first ended I felt sad that there wasn't more but after 2 and a half hours surely if I felt like I wanted more then this means that it really did suck me in, I could have easily sat there for another 2 hours to see some sort of closure.

So now I can't wait for the 4th Avenger movie, I have never waited in anticipation for a Marvel film like it before. In the mean time, I may actually go back and rewatch the other Marvel films which I didn't think I would ever do again.
