Infinity Pool (2023)
Pointless exercise in trying to be something
This movie certainly tries to be something but ends up with nothing. The characters are so one dimensional and so predictable and the story just goes nowhere in particular.
It tries to be shocking at times but this falls flat especially on the poor acting on display. I am not sure for whom this movie is meant to be, its not for sci-fi fans, its not for horror fans either... not even gore as its kinda meh on that aspect either as the effects are fairly cheaply made all over.
I can only recommend people not to waste their time on this movie... its a long boring ride. Its one of these films people will forget quite quickly.
White Noise (2022)
It's an incoherrent mess
Like most have pointed out one of the biggest flaws of the movie is the constant talking about nonsensical stuff, its a world where everyone has Attention Deficit Disorder and needs constant babbling to keep their minds occupied.
While there was 2-3 funny scenes in the movie, it was only watchable with a friend while we kept making fun of it. Does it have any kind of Horror? Absolutely none. Misleading marketing as hardly anything that was used to advertise this movie actually matters.
Actually basically nothing matters in this movie or makes sense. I would STRONGLY suggest skipping this mess.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Missing a lot of polish
When i say the movie is missing a lot of polish obviously not that much in the 3D department, that was of course fine.
The story flow wasn't great, easily an hour of the movie could have been cut to make the story flow better. It's filled with way too much pure eye candy shots and tired tropes about family and bullies and being outcasts/freaks.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at these tropes. Its a trap too many film makers fall into: We are in a extra ordinary setting on a different planet and we fall back into covering social drama and not even smart social drama, but very generic one.
Another small aspect was that much of felt like a cutscene from a video game. Camera movement was just too smooth, it felt very unnatural from following characters in third person to really hard zooms that started and stopped abruptly.
At this point should i watch this movie again i know i will skip quite a bit of it.
Vesper (2022)
Overall interesting piece of fiction that doesn't try to pull an epic.
It was certainly a treat to watch this movie. Going in with no prior knowledge i was greated with small time story about people trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic biopunk future. Especially biopunk in itself is a rare visited genre and its a very welcome change to regular sci-fi technology that can feel chewed out at times.
The number of characters is held a very limited number which certainly helps to feel each one out and that consequences felt actually meaningful and not just annoying blip.
Near the end it becomes a bit lackluster with possible sequel bait but who knows really.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this movie.
Glorious (2022)
Good for one watch
The acting overall is pretty good and the suspense and some bait and switch was very welcome.
The ending i think was the most disappointing aspect about this as it felt kind of cheap story/character wise.
The Batman (2022)
Disappointing
I went into the movie blind and i was still disappointed at what they done to Batman. Pattinson cannot carry either Batman or Bruce Wayne. As batman he fails at being intimidating and fails at being a detective. Who asked for a moody emo version of Bruce Wayne?
Overall the Movie dragged on way too long, much of which is scenes that linger way longer than needed and too many plots going on. The riddler was not recognizeable, i wouldn't put that on the actor as if he would have been a new villain i could have seen it work out, but a bi-polar little Twitter Warrior incarnate isn't what the riddler is about.
The only highlights of this movie is Colin Farrell as the Penguin who did a good job as the Penguin and Jeffrey Wright was just spot on as James Gordon, but neither can safe this absolute mess of a movie.
Cyst (2020)
Decent cheesy horror movie
Has a very ok-ish to bad acting cast, but overall it was entertaining to watch. Cyst delivers massive amount of disgusting scenes and some disgusting characters.
Krampus (2015)
A great flick that gets about half the things right
As a native to origin land of Krampus i was quite pleased with the presentation of Krampus in this movie. It's by no means 100% accurate but it fulfills his purpose: to be scary, to be feared and to teach a lesson that one should be good or else...
The story starts out slow with an ever decreasing pacing til the end where i get the feeling it was too fast and everything was over in a flash.
Krampus little helpers are a mixed bag, some of them are very... VERY creepy while others seem goofy.
If you are in the mood for a movie that likes to switch between grim themes and light comedic moments than you are gonna like this one.
