Grey's Anatomy (2005)
Storylines are too chaotic and depressing
What happened to this show? I tune in every few months thinking the writers will resort back to the simple, mostly medical based storylines of their patients but it's become heavily focused on the medical team's incredibly disturbing, depressing lives. Too much infidelity and petty drama that is no longer focused on Meredith Grey, which is formerly why the show was well watched. The newer characters just do not and will not fulfill the attraction that the original characters once had. They were fired by Dr. Bailey and now what? Nobody wants to watch the surgeons losing their jobs. This is not what the audience wants to see, just a repeat of every other original cast member who is no longer on the show.
Dating #NoFilter (2019)
Wow, I feel old.
All the episode's dates kill me. I feel dead inside every time I watch and listen to the dialogue. Where do they find these daters? One guy picked the carwash for the 1st date...real as it can't get. One girl believed in aliens. The show's hosts are the only thing that is relatable because everything they comment about is legit. The daters seem to be the rejects of Tinder.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)
Funny scenes at times but certain points too sexual/over explained. Some spoilers in review.
Too many sexual references to Jack Black's private parts. Some points of movie leave audience confused, especially with all the over explaining each actor does with their assigned game character's power abilities. It seemed like overkill. Overall, with certain scenes being too slow due to the over explanations and jumping around too much (like when Joe Jonas contemplates flying. He first repeatedly says "I can't do it!" because he never used his character's power of aviation in 20 years inside game) but then after a long spiel of how he's the only one that can get them out of the current situation, he then all of a sudden has courage and says, "reporting for duty." Would have been less confusing to just say "I've never flown but let's do this." Back and forth with no's and yes's, and no I'm scared, no wait you're right I can do it, no you're the one with the power, etc. is why it felt like overkill, too many explanations and jumping around. It happened with Dwayne Johnson's character, too, when he's confronted with the snake. And, instead, Kevin Hart ends the scene a hero. Just too jumpy to fully enjoy.
There's another scene where the characters find out their powers and one says "How did you do that?" Dwayne Johnson says something like, "I just touched my peck" and the red headed female character (sorry, unfamiliar with her real name) tries to touch her chest in same manner but doesn't work so Kevin Hart says something like, "Let me help, I think you need to touch higher" and she swats his hand away. Not a fan of films encouraging sexual harassment. The audience didn't laugh at most of the sexually natured scenes because they were just uncomfortable, especially with all the sexual assault allegations going on in Hollywood right now. I would not recommend to take your kids to this film, it's not kid friendly like the 1995 version. Jumpy scenes combined with the overly sexualized references to Jack Black's private parts and other sexual references, 5 stars.
