Cliffhanger!
29 April 2023
This show has great characters, excellent dialogue, and gripping plot lines. Think of it as "The West Wing" meets "James Bond." It has the snappy dialogue of The West Wing, with the intrigue of a James Bond TV series, if you can imagine that.

Rufus Sewell is a gem. I could watch him read the telephone book. (Remember when we had those? No?) He and Keri Russell have great on-screen chemistry. Keri Russell shows real range here. I haven't see her in anything since Felicity, but now I think I'll start watching The Americans. (I might also watch start watching The Man in the High Castle... !)

I hope I don't have to wait a full year for season 2! Talk about a doozy of a cliffhanger. Hard not to spoil it, but I hate spoilers, so all I can say is - watch this show!

Small Town Christmas (2018 TV Movie)

The mountains of Wisconsin LOL
8 July 2021
So. This movie was cute, and Polaha is genuinely charming, but I'm tired of Hallmark movies pretending they're set somewhere the director has obviously never been. They cut to a view of a full moon over a mountain range. Where do they imagine this was filmed? The Wisconsin Mountains? LOL. Wisconsin has hills and bluffs and lakes galore but, alas, no mountains.

Anyway, it's a standard fare Hallmark Christmas movie, with the usual cast of characters. Entertaining and mindless. Polaha is a bit more appealing than the usual male lead, imho.

Goren Goes Undercover
28 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Goren is my favorite character on LOCI. I am only watching this series because of him, though I do like his partner, Eames, and of course I enjoy watching Detective Logan (Chris Noth).

This episode is one of the critical milestones in the personal journey of Robert Goren.

I've seen a few episodes out of order, and so it was good to see this episode, as it further illuminates the relationship between Bobby and his brother, and fills in a few gaps, which will become important in a later episode. Further, it introduces a key new character / family member.

Goren is a complicated character, and this episode reveals some of that complexity. It also gives Vince Donofrio an opportunity to really display his acting chops.
