A waste
17 September 2023
Impossible to watch in anything but a pitch black room. The film is so dark. Questionable casting of the young boy, or maybe i think this due to the corny script. Historical inaccuracies in regards to the Iron Maiden. Very cheesy writing, it probably would have been considered a good film in the 80's. Very dated and all be done before. Not scary at all. Wouldn't class it as a horror. A waste of money. The idea of the devil is cheesy at best but this is like a fantasy movie. It relies on shock value of a kid saying sexual things. The score didn't feel impressive either. Regret paying a fiver for it.

Beautiful and misunderstood.

A really lovely, quirky film about coping with stereotypical adulthood as a creative person. The message and the metaphors are clear and I wish more people would accept these types of films. Not everything has to have a realistic and literal outcome. If you're smart you will understand the messages within this film. The acting and script is great and I think it deserves more credit.

A must see! Incredible!

This film deserves so much recognition. I cried through so much of it. Every single actor and actress displayed such talent. The emotions of the film were raw and the message inspiring. I believe this film is an important instrument for educating people. Epathy. Rights. Human understanding. The structure of the film was perfection. It was not predictable at all.

Terrible film.
19 September 2018
After all the celebrities online posting about this film I was quite excited to see it. I could not believe how bad the acting and writing was. The plot was predictable. The leading man was completely 2D and had zero substance. The only good part was Awkwafina and Astrid Leong-Teo who were too good for this film. Amazing actors. It's disappointing because Hollywood does need more diversity in it's big budget, mainstream films, but this was almost an insult. Horrifically boring and cringeful.

Huge potential, slight let down.

I find it infuriating when a character makes weak and unrealistic decisions in order for there to be a plot. This to me is a sign of bad writing. Also the casting of the teacher - I feel - was bad. As excited as I was to see Dylan Sprouse in a new film, I was disappointed that the other lead character in this film (the teacher) seemed to drag it down. The acting is great from Dylan and I hope to see him in more movies soon. Hopefully ones that give him more opportunity to show his talents. I just can't get past the weakness of the teacher and dumbness of some of the supporting characters. It was a tad cheesy, but not one of the worst films I've seen at all.

Heroes. Just for one day.

This film shows perfectly, what it is like to survive from one point of view. There are billions of stories, but this shows one of a billion, It connects with an audience more mature than their years through emotional experience. It is poetic and tremendously acted. I can't find many more words to express how incredible this film is, and how important. From structure to soundtrack, casting to shot structure. I could not recommend this more.

Disappointed fan.

I barely got half way through the movie. This review is not on the film its self but mainly about the casting. The fact that I am such a huge James Dean fan and I couldn't watch this is upsetting. Casting DeHaan as Dean was the biggest mistake. Everything about it was wrong. After watching James Franco's portrayal of Dean I think you have to really get it spot on in order to measure up. It's not just the looks, it's everything. The voice, the posture, the acting and impersonation in general. I was really excited about this but I can't enjoy it because that is not James Dean.

13 Reasons Why (2017–2020)

The most honest portrayal I've ever seen.

This is the best and most accurate portrayal of these topics in a film or series EVER. I am a total movie obsessive and nothing connected with me as much as this series has. It is bold, brutal and sometimes yes hard to watch but it is so so important. The structure and general writing of it is brilliant. It completely captivated me. Having personal experience with the serious topics that this show is based around I felt it couldn't have been done better. We need programmes like this. Well done to the phenomenal cast for taking on these roles. Oh and it also has trigger warnings at the start of some episodes which I always encourage. Perfection.

White People Problems

Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILER ALERT****

I gave this title a 3 purely because of the entertaining deaths. Otherwise, I fell asleep. But gore always wins.

So basically, poor little Jason was disfigured and he drowned in a lake and didn't give a sh*t 'till his crusty-ass bat-sh*t Mama goes on a vengeful murderous rampage because she can't control herself. All the time speaking to herself really creepily (batsh*t). So then Jason gets upset because this basic b**ch casually cuts his Mama's head off after a paddle fight and decides to make the effort to rise from the dead and kill more people. Chill out m8. Jeez.

Seeing as Jason is an iconic horror villain, I did not expect him to be such a boring little b**ch. Real talk.
