Bridgend (2015)

Involuntary Lovecraft.
17 February 2022
Usually films that try to recreate the Lovecraftian atmosphere fail. And they fail miserably. Bridgend was not meant to be Lovecraftian, but by the end of the movie all I could think was that Cthulhu would appear in the next scene. I liked it.

The Snowflake Joker
12 November 2019
A mentally ill person without talents (or intelligence) cannot become a super villain just because he is angry. He will only be a mentally ill person with no talents (and intelligence) in anger. Nothing more. As a film, Joker lacks creativity or depth. In all senses. Unfortunately Joker did for the iconical character the same thing that Twilight did for vampire films.

A bad movie in every way.
12 November 2019
Nothing is good about this movie. Absolutely nothing. Photography seems to have been directed by a blind man. The interpretations are pathetic and forced. The script is an uncreative destruction of a great idea. Herzog has no talent and this is an explicit fact shown in this film.

Childish, boring and predictable.
30 September 2019
The first observation about this film is that it seems to have been written by someone no older than thirteen years of age. This way, it should also be scary only for people under thirteen years of age. Some good movies with pretty much the same script have been produced and even then someone was not ashamed to try to do something better, but yes, this empty thing. Easily one of the most pathetic films of the year and a strong proof that the "specialized" critics are just a bunch of idiots with inflated ego.

I have autism and I liked the movie.

Warning: Spoilers
When I read the terrible reviews about this movie, I was curious. Especially about the autistic character. I imagined the worst stereotypes, the worst mistakes and the worst treatments. But what I found was a character on the spectrum, problematic, confused, full of anguish and, in the end caused me a lot of pity. In fact, it was the autistic character who touched me the most in his representation for cinema. I'm a huge fan of good films and that's why I say: forget all the shameful bull**** that the "specialized" critics have been writing about this work. This film is worth watching. What's not worth paying attention to is the growing ignorance dressed as political correctness.

A big missed chance.

The idea was great. The period was ideal. The location was perfect. But the execution, so amateurish, was hilarious. At best. Any director with real talent would have done a magnificent job. That was not the case. To say that this film is a masterpiece is a joke of terrible taste.

Flawless.

I consider this series until now - I'm at the end of the third season - the best series of all time. The photography is wonderful. The script is practically untouchable. The performances are perfect. Ignore the negative reviews. These people don't know what they're talking about.

What happened to Stranger Things??
9 July 2019
I thought this series was fun until... the third season. What happened? Why did it get stupid as a Disney production? After what happened to Game Of Thrones, I'm not surprised anymore. But it's still disappointing. I won't be following it anymore.

A very basic script and great graphics. Just that.

Deeply boring.
27 June 2019
Like the vast majority of Nouvelle Vague films (yes, this film drank heavily from that source), what you see is a terrible and pretentious execution of a job with little talent. As a result, the duration seems to be three times longer than it really is.

Good action. Zero storytelling in the end.
1 May 2019
Game Of Thrones went from best series of all time to a video game of action with a bad script. The depth of it all disappeared between idiotic romances and beautiful war scenes. The biggest disappointment.

Everything a documentary should be.
8 March 2019
Great documentaries have the power to shake your convictions. To make your horizons widen, even if it is not comfortable. They are able to pull out the mold that, because of laziness or hypocrisy, was still clinging to the way you interpret the world. Leaving Neverland has the ability to make many feel like a child who just discovered through the TV that there is no Santa. Or that your parents will die some day. Congratulations to HBO. Congratulations to those who had the courage to speak the truth. Pedophilia should not be supported or tolerated.

Limit (1931)

It was a joke??
23 February 2019
Imagine that, in 1931, a film student won a camera from his father, joined friends and went out to film. Some good framing but nothing more. Several silent films are among my all-time favorites but this movie is simply ... amateur. If this is the best Brazilian film of all time then, definitively, I do not waste my time with any other.

What the hell happened to Gaspar Noe?
1 February 2019
The movie script appears to have been written by an amateur who has never used drugs. Was that the same Gaspar Noe from Irreversible and Enter The Void who wrote it? A GIGANTIC retrograde.

Probably the best and most important film of the year. Great script and performances. More than necessary.
