Uncut Gems (2019)
Agony
I always wondered what it felt like being lobotomized. Until I watched this movie in theaters. The effect it bad in me was so overwhelming I avoided watching it by falling asleep in my seat. I wondered if maybe I was having a bad day at if I might enjoy it in another setting. So many people seem to like this moving so I figured I would try it again. Boy oh boy was I wrong. It made me just as irritated, anxious, and angry as it did the first time. The characters are all terrible people, doing stupid and terrible things, yelling at each other, betraying/lying/cheating, being crude. The story is pointless no need to be told. My least favorite movie of all time.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Leave it alone
It's not as awful as everyone says it is but I think it's truly time to give Jurassic Park a good long solid break. I enjoyed seeing all the old actors but I mean how many curtain calls do you really need? And wow, mixing Chris Pratt with the other old equally mediocre actors who took this movie also.. It really didn't have the nostalgic impact I can tell the movie wanted the viewer to feel. This felt warily similar to The Force Awakens. This didn't really have the "anticipation" and "wonder" the original Jurassic Parks did. I really think neither Star Wars nor the Jurassic needed to hit up the Member Berries so soon, or so hard. The lead up to the ending scene was so anticlimactic and set up so that no matter what they did I was not going to be impressed. I'm 30 years old, a highly desirable market, and just for the love of Pete stop forcing member berries down my throat and make something I'll actually like.
The King (2019)
KING HENRY
Perfectly scripted and well acted. Costumes and sets where spectacular. The violence was brutal. Entertaining from start to finish.
A Kid from Coney Island (2019)
Weak
Bleh. Bunch of interviews from his family and "community members" at the barber shop. About 90 percent of the quotes were pretty cringe. Really makes you wonder what kind of babble was actually cut from the documentary. Not nearly enough interviews with people who knew him. And zero from teammates. None from coaches. Basically a bunch of nobodies that want to sit in the sunlight of the guy from their hood who made it in the NBA. Watching his brother talk for about an hour of the documentary... Rough.. What I got from this documentary was that his poor reputation was well earned... Hearing biased people make excuses after excuse after excuse for him. It was so annoying. Only reason not a 1 was because I enjoyed watching the cool highlights of Marbury which I could have watched in ten minutes on YouTube... you know what... I'll actually make it a 1. It's funny that Steph doesn't even appear in this documentary till the end... I wonder why..
Naruto: Shippûden (2007)
"Believe it!"
The best show around. Naruto is the bomb. I get so frustrated when someone won't give this show a chance but has watched a billion episodes of Pokémon. Pokémon is Naruto's red headed step child
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
If you don't like this movie please don't claim to like Godzilla
Seriously, most of the real fans grew up on the old Godzilla films as kids. We saw guys in costumes duke it out as monsters... pretty cool huh...
Well now in 2019 we see an absolute clash of Titans. Incredible CGI beyond belief. Godzilla in all his magnificent glory... decent story and decent acting... but above all else absolute utter carnage.
Even if you weren't a fan of the old films and just watched this movie with no context... if you didn't like like it... go home... schedule a doctors appointment... and make sure you have a pulse. People these days can't get excited over anything that isn't on the hub.
Gojira: Kaijû Wakusei (2017)
Must love Godzilla
Should have been two hours total. There will be times you want the characters to put it nicely.... shut up. We don't need 5 minute long battle strategies when we already figured it out within 20 seconds. Wayy to much dialogue. I know that is a characteristic of anime. But still. Jeeeesh.
On the plus side the animation is utterly incredible. As a huge Godzilla fan I really enjoyed this... Awesome story. Super creative. The execution was a little disappointing. But hey.. I stumbled on this on Netflix. And paid attention till the end
