State Department Stooge
2 April 2023
If lobbing softballs to Condi, Hillary, Lloyd Austin, et.al. Is your cup of tea, how sad. There was a time when Jon's wit could cut through people (war criminals) like this. Now former Raytheon shill and highly honoured (what are all those medals for?) General Austin can be a smiling killing fields guest & promotor.

Was it Jon's mention of a Wuhan Lab leak being a cause of Covid on his pal's Stephen Colbert's show that had the State Department crawl up Jon's business?

Instead Jon has become a willing promoter of war crimes and war criminals. Instead of challenging mass murderers, Jon is cozying up to them. Truly sickening!

Mark Twain wants his name back!
23 June 2022
What a horror show to see Jon Stewart speak put against authoritarianism yet never mention Assange. No mention of a complete CIA domination of the MSM in Ukraine coverage. Now I know I don't miss Jon when Noah, and Colbert will keep shilling for war criminals of their political liking.

When Jon retired he said that 17 years of mining turds was enough. Well that stink is all over this sell out!

If Twain was alive seeing the destruction of the first amendment, he'd want his name off this award.

"Award winning journalist Paula Zahn"
6 June 2022
"Award winning journalist Paula Zahn" What a shame to be a real journalist and be doing this tripe. TV is drowning in the real crime and NOT how it 'unravels' but as it gets sewn together in 42 minutes.

I guess the Network $$$ makes up for a career that will be vapid fluff.

Insufferable!

I have never pulled the R lever and likely never will. But this right-of-center schitllb and the sleazy DNC characters he shamelessly promotes is sickening. Color me GREEN.

Came to realize that Colbert greatest gift is his memory, that's impressive.

For Stephen: "Donnie didn't happen in a vacuum."-Me.

Basic narrated crime-clip shows

Two crimes in 22 minutes is good for those with short attention spans.

A point off for all the VERY close-ups of Sara Azari. No one needs that much of her botched pinch-nostrils, nose job or her freakish, over inflated lips.

Episode One ... Is enough
28 July 2021
Yet another tired sitcom with the typical TV family/neighbors. The first not-so-clever retort was immediately followed by a loud laugh track. No matter how decent to lame the banter was, there was the laugh track. I'd like some OCD type to count exactly how many times they pumped in the laugh tracks in this episode. - Think I was kind to give this 5 stars.

Two Stars is Generous!
7 July 2021
Ed Helms 'acting' is so forced that it's painful. So are hackneyed, cookie cutter characters with predicable behaviors/reactions. The whole pretense is abzurb. Not absurd, as in, unusual and clever, but just plain, absurd that anyone would consider this worth building a sit-com around. Between Shur and Helms, I stuck out all 10 episodes. I could kick myself for not going with my initial take. A real waste of time.

Less is more ...

Losing Christy's ex, daughter and son was a relief. I would've have stopped watching 'that show' especially if they had become any more integral. Turns out losing Christy was a plus, too. Losing the chef role, played by French Stewart, was the only low point for me.

On Laughing
15 December 2020
Fallon eagerly smiles ready to laugh at anything said by any guest. The same camera mugging child that ruined bit after bit doing that in the background of SNL bits. I find myself not laughing, not be able to watch him.

I wanted to laugh. Have enjoyed Amy but ... Just minutes in Amy picks at her hair as she readies to get tips from her hubby. I wanted to gag. If in a restaurant where I could see the kitchen crew, it would be buh-bye. As for her chef hubby, he should have sent her of to wash her hands, maybe have her wash her hair if she feels a need to pick at her scalp. Then have her wear a hairnet for sanitary/health reasons and some comedy relief.

How many Sandlers?

How many Sandlers are in this? Want to make a comedy tedious? Stack the film with Adam's wife and kids. Sheesh! Adam's wife steals form Lapkus' being the film's 'non-beauty'.

Underwriters!
25 May 2020
It's not 'Viewers Like You" that get this show on the air, it's the underwriters like Big Oil and MIC arms makers. * When was the last time WW had on a lifelong Peace Movement person? Last time they took a strong anti-war stand? Ever hear them speak out against a generation of American war crimes? * These talking heads only normalize war, never challenge the current oligarchy, all with the wealth gap widening daily!

"flipping comedy on its head"
6 January 2020
If "flipping comedy on its head" means to take away the magic of painting a scene and having characters appear by a standup's crafted words and delivery, they have flipped it on its head ... And it's now close to braindead.

The Something Burger?

Nah, this show is a nothing burger. Unless you want to see Chet eat hamburgers in greasy spoons all over Texas. Little history, little insight, ... Who needs writers? A nothing burger.

Lost All Credibility!
1 May 2019
Maher's VICE 'News" followed the war mongering MSM, supporting a convicted felon, Elliott Abrams as US envoy to Venezuela. Cherry picking shills to scorn Maduro, as the majority of Venezuelans support him. Not a scene scene from huge rallies that want the USA out of their government.

Oddest Crowd Laughter, Evah!
3 February 2018
I saw this at the Roxie Theatre in SF, Ca in the early 70s. This art house always had an unusual crowds but even they were caught by surprise. I like most of the theatre, broke out in a raucus guffaw only to almost immediately go silent. These were days well before being PC, but almost all embarrassed themselves by laughing. * Later I got to see Curt's "Thundecrack" at the Roxie. A full length feature with an intermission. The movie was an 2 hour traveling salseman joke. The Kutcher Brothers were at that premier, in elbow worn sweaters. Years later one could engage Curt as he manned the concessions at the Roxie.

Painful to Watch
13 January 2018
~ This show tries so hard to be funny and poignant but is neither. The whole nyah-nyah, I am so much brighter than you schitck is not only over done, these shallow skits offer nothing revealing unless the viewer is a total dolt. ~ The parade of guests (many I imagine are writers) is also painfully unfunny.

One Hot Mess
14 May 2016
Surely a tough time slot to follow but this is awful!

I like Larry but find the production of the show outright terrible.

The worst of this hodgepodge has to be producer Rory Albanese. Rory's a camera hog, too busy staring down the camera, too busy talking over others, busy trying to be a star, and is rarely ever even close to funny.

Unless there is a complete overhaul, I expect this show to be gone soon.

I don't expect to ever see Rory Albanese ever again on camera. I can hope.
