Ahsoka: Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch and the Warlord (2023)
Soap opera writers meet Star Wars
This was so laborious and slow. I committed to myself to watch all season 1, and at the end it was actually funny in the silliness and I found myself laughing at scenes. I realized with the constant long gaps in dialogue they were striking thoughtful poses, contemplating something. Later I realized it was similar to the Netflix series lost in space, in the championing of strong female characters at the expense of silly heterosexual males, but at least I did make it through these eight episodes while I could only stomach 6 of the other series I mentioned. Star Wars is a very strong franchise but product like this are denting this.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: The Testi-Roastial (2023)
Long time watcher vs recent
This episode in my opinion has a possibility of gathering two different types of reviews. If you picked the series up later, saw some of the past scenes for the laughs I believe you may find this an overall entertaining episode. However if you have followed this over the years, with sometimes strange storylines and a range of fast paced humor and the comedic excellence of Tony Schaloub (sp?). But as you follow this closing story arc, you see the real brilliance of the writers. This could have been the series close, and I cannot imagine the remaining few, but this cuts an emotional connection that covers the whole series, and grabs you. Bravo to all involved in this outstanding episode and series!!!
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Well, that's 2 hours I could have been at the dentist
So the whole start was a joke about making a sequel that was actually funny in its stupidity. Then somehow (who knows I fell asleep due to sheer boredom) they were outside the latest super secret Matrix. Then we all run around firing guns and throwing punches, while testing ourselves as to who can say the most techno-babble. They struggle to achieve some level of bending of the viewer's mind, but it all comes across as an incoherent set of scenes and dialogue. So the moment "tiff" suddenly knows she is trinity is a classic in one right up there with "plan 9 from outer space ". It's good for Lawrence Fishburn that they inexplicably excluded him.
Fargo: The Pretend War (2020)
Came Grinding to a halt
So season 1 was great. 2 was still fun. This has been long, slow, directionless, and we are out. I see an even lower rated 4th season, and chatter about a 5th if Hawley get around to it. Nobody cares so later.
Glitch: Little Gidding (2019)
Terrible
It was so bad I could not stop watching. I mean it was laughable and I am embarrassed for everyone who signed their name to this. I sure hope they ran out of money, were threatened with suits if they left, etc. Please don't tell me they tried here!
Glitch: First Times (2019)
Spoiler
This episode sucks hard. No point, drags on, half written scenes, just sad.
The Outsider: Dark Uncle (2020)
Is there a missing episode between 2 and 3?
Disjointed and confusing
and in modern shows just layer on more actors.
Black Mirror: Fifteen Million Merits (2011)
Again, poor writing
This is just a terrible example of drudgery. I felt like I was watching a 60's episode of lost in space. Well I tried this show, but just couldn't bear the last third. I am out of this series now - too many good shows.
SPOILER- it sucked
Black Panther (2018)
Skip
Slow, boring, tiring. I see they funded critics, and the perfect score people here on social media to prop up ratings, they should have funded an interesting story instead.
