Yea... No!

I forced myself to watch LOST GIRL. For about 1 season. If you liked Lost Girl then you will like this show. Nothing wrong with that. However, this is the exact same concept: brooding female lead, spunky younger sidekick, dry attempt at girl on girl romance, flirty partner, and just a bunch of things that make no sense.

There is no chemistry, no charisma, no cohesive plot. I made myself watch 5 episodes because quite honestly, I like the "Doc Holliday" character and want to see what his deal is. But five episodes was just too much. Ugh. The rules are stated but never followed. The male "partner" (much like Dyson) acts like a bossy, know it all who spends most of the time with an "i told you so" attitude, trying to keep our loose-cannon heroine in line. At least lost girl was something new. But damn, this show sucks. :(

This was so much better than it gets credit for

I avoided this movie because I saw a clip of the very raunchy looking "scene." I came across it tonight and I was blown away. It is subtle comedy, and yes, it is crass. But it is not crass in the way other movies (like Trainwreck- which I hated) do it to get a laugh. The laughs come from the situations. The character is a spoiled, self-centered, a-hole who cannot accept that her glory days are over (imagine the washed out small town high school quarterback). This is her attitude, her tough-as-nails, no b.s, cause I'm a winner kind of loser. The closest I can compare this is to Danny McBride in "Eastbound and Down." So if you like that kind of humor: the kind of pathetic jerk who can't see themselves as anything other than a champ and ends up getting a little heart (and pride kicks) along the way then you will probably enjoy this.

I guess if you like a very cliché haunted house movie...

Warning: Spoilers
Seriously??? I was looking forward to watching this because it was so highly rated. I hate gore horror but love spooks! Nothing like a movie that builds up tension and suspense. This was like a t.v. episode of A Haunting in "some city." It had spooky start. It seemed like it would go well but then it is a cheesy Amitiville Horror rip off. I am obviously in the minority here.

Potential plot SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

This turns into a cheesy Catholic vs demon story. They could not even come up with something even slightly unique. Very choppy. Characters not interesting. Then the final straw- the person who must be exorcised. Ugh! So overdone. This was so boring.

I don't know how anyone who is a fan of the genre could possibly be excited by this. I found a movie like, It Follows, so much creepier.
