The Fall Guy (2024)

THIS FILM'S ON FIRE!!!
3 June 2024
THIS FILM IS A WINNER! Ok... Let's start with the fact that this film is not some sort of moody Oscar Winner.... Except if there was a Stuntman category which this film brings to obvious light. What the film does do exceptionally well is captivate the audience with action and stunts! There's a ton of them! From massive car rolls, boat jumps, fight scenes, high falls, huge explosions and let me say... so many man-on-fire scenes that must make even the most seasoned Stuntman cringe!

The film stars the ever-favorite-as-of-late Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt as his love interest. Their chemistry is right on point. I loved Colt's (Ryan Gosling) puppy dog eyes as he gazed at his ever elusive love Jodi (Emily Blunt).

Why did I give a non-painfully-moody, non-typical Oscar Winner a 10 out of 10? Because it's a good ol' fashioned fun movie! Isn't that why we watch movies anyways? Not all movies need to enrich your inner thespian or indulge your inner murderous rage (just kidding on that one). This movie hits all the marks for fun, a bit of romance, great production, cinematography, great cast and the ACTION... well that takes the cake and I do hope to see the Stunts Category in next year's Academy Awards!

Sweet Enjoyable Film!

A Feel Good Movie with two cute dogs and a love story to boot! I'll take it! We all need a little uplifting now and then!

I loved the arc in the two main characters (Nicole Mathew) Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin (Max Stevenson). Gustin playing a tech-nerd with social anxiety disorder, and Hale an extravert with a passion for spicy foods. The two could not be more unalike. An imperfect-perfect match as the two discover their one connection is their recently adopted pups!

The directors, Nick Fabiano and Richard Alan Reid do a good job at keeping the pace of the film.

The Art Direction and Production Design was well done too, as the look helped to contrast the two main characters personalities with their living styles perfectly. Max and neat and tidy computer geek, and Nicole's apartment as a chaotic mess.

Yes, there are many dog films that attempt this "feel good" style mixed with romance, but not all movies succeed in keeping the audience interested. Perhaps in the back of mine, I knew how the story would probably end. But, I wanted to see the journey every step of the way. To me... they kept me completely inthralled!
