Kartavya (1995)
8/10
Just as good as expected!
2 September 2007
I just watched Kartavya yesterday and I must say, it was pretty good! Although the beginning was a bit slow, it was still fun to see Juhi and Sanjay together! Nothing really serious in the first half, just loaded with lots of fun and dance! Simply sit back and enjoy! Later on, things start picking up when Karan's(Sanjay Kapoor) mother has a heart attack after being insulted by the mayor. It is before she dies that Sanjay discovers to his horror that she wasn't his real mother. He is told that his actual mother, Gayatri(Aruna Irani) lives in Sundernagar. So he sets out to find her and is curious why she hadn't taken care of him. When reaching Sundernagar he comes to know the sad story of his mother's life. Her stepbrother had killed her husband and had her thrown in an insane asylum (although she wasn't the least bit crazy), just in the greed for wealth. Karan is angry at these wrongdoers and feels it is his duty to finish them off. Will Gayatri return to her normal state of mind? Will Karan be able to take revenge on his enemies? Watch KARTAVYA to find out! Now, on to the music and acting... excellent performances were given by both Juhi and Sanjay! Juhi once again manages to pull off another comical performance while the anger in Sanjay's eyes are truly visible. The songs were nice, just plain fun and sometimes simply random! All in all, the film deserves an 8/10 :)

Such a sweet film!
10 October 2006
Last year I remember watching Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman for the first time. I liked it very much but for some strange reason I seemed to enjoy it a whole lot more when I saw it the second time! RBGG is basically about Raju, (Shahrukh Khan) a young man who comes to Bombay in hopes of becoming an engineer. There he meets Renu, (Juhi Chawla) who helps him get a job and they fall in love with each other over time. Raju continues to climb the ladders of success until he is framed for the collision of a newly constructed bridge in the area. He is then taken to court where a case is filed against him. What will happen next? Watch RBGG to find out....

This film was surely a genuine treat to watch. I must say that SRK and Juhi make one of the sweetest on screen couples! I just love watching all of the films they have made together; their on-screen chemistry is just so amazing! Moving on to the music... RBGG's music was so wonderful! The best songs in the movie would have to be "Loveria" and "I Love You." Not to mention the entire cast of the film made outstanding performances! An excellent and very-well made film, but not better than Yes Boss!

Overall Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman deserves a 9/10!!!

One of the best comedies ever!!!
17 July 2006
Just a few months ago, I watched Mr. & Mrs Khiladi for the first time. I remember staying up way past midnight just so I could watch this movie and let me tell you; I enjoyed each and every minute of it! Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi is about a jobless man named Raja (Akshay Kumar) who blindly believes in astrology. His uncle, who is an astrologer tells him that within one year he will become king, so Raja decides to sit back and live the easy life until he becomes king. He then happens to fall in love with Shalu (Juhi Chawla) who is from a very rich and wealthy family. The two of them decide to get married, but Shalu's dad won't allow the marriage to take place unless Raja accumulates a sum of one lakh rupees. It is so hilarious to see how Raja earns the one lakh rupees!

As for the acting, both Juhi Chawla and Akshay Kumar delivered brilliant comical performances! The film has so many scenes that will leave you literally rolling to the floor! I absolutely LOVED the scene where Juhi was taking her dad for a spin and was purposely crashing into everything in the car's path. She ran into all sorts of stuff and even crashed into Johnny Lever, who played a bandaged patient in the street. With Johnny on top of the car, Juhi went off this ramp-like thing and the car was flying in the air until it landed on top of this parked car which belonged to a bunch of midgets, it was so funny! Another good scene was the one where Akshay Kumar had to fight this gigantic sumo wrestler, it was funny and disgusting at the same time!

Moving on to the music, I loved all the songs but my two favorites from this film would have to be "Samose Mein Aloo" and "Jumme Ke Jumme."

If you haven't seen this film yet, you should do so as soon as possible. It's great fun to watch and you'll be laughing all the way! Not only that, but once you see it you'll be hooked on it and you will want to watch it over and over again!

Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi deserves a 10/10!!!

You can't buy love.....
19 December 2005
Karobaar is essentially about a couple which in this case is Juhi Chawla and Rishi Kapoor. The two of them struggle on with their lives with the little money that they have. All of that changes when Anil Kapoor, a very rich and wealthy man steps in. He gets between the two of them and tries to win over Juhi no matter how much money it takes. The basic message of this film is "You can't buy love." Love doesn't have a price, it is based on the matters of relationships and all that stuff.

The movie was fairly good, though I did expect it to be a little better. All characters played their roles well and the music was pretty nice too. It's not really the kind of film you'd want to watch multiple times, but it did entertain me for about three hours! I couldn't ask for more than that!

Overall, Karobaar deserves a 5/10!

One of SRK-Juhi's best!!!
10 December 2005
Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani is a great movie! So far I've watched it six times, and each time it seems to be getting better and better!

Basically, Shahrukh and Juhi are journalists working for two different news channels who happen to be rivals. Each one tries to outsmart the other in order to promote their channel. Both Shahrukh and Juhi play pranks and mean tricks on one another throughout the beginning of the film which I found to be quite hilarious! I thought it was also really clever how Juhi had a video-camera planted inside her purse and was secretly taping "extra footage."

Eventually, after all that hate and rivalry, the two of them are faced in a situation in which they must help save a convict who has escaped from jail. I thought it was really sweet how Shahrukh and Juhi worked together as a team to help the run away prisoner. Not only that, but they fell in love with one another just as I'd hoped they would....

As for the acting... both Shahrukh and Juhi did a great job playing their roles. In addition to that, Juhi looked so glamorous and stunning in each and every scene!

One word for PBDHH's music.... amazing! Each song was special and unique in its own way, ranging from the comical dance number "Banke Tera Jogi" to the magical and romantic "Aur Kya."

Anyone who hasn't seen Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani should do so right away! It is a very cool and entertaining film and I would recommend it to anyone. Definitely one of SRK-Juhi's best! Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani will surely leave you with a smile on your face!

Overall, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani deserves a 10/10!

Darr (1993)
9/10
Really cool movie!
10 December 2005
Darr is a great movie! Shahrukh plays an obsessed lover who will do almost anything to win over his lady which in this case is Juhi Chawla. Little does Juhi know in the film that Shahrukh has a MAJOR crush on her and is constantly stalking her. I have to admit, some of the things he did in this movie were pretty creepy... like the threatening phone calls. Never in my life will I forget the line, "I love you K..k..k..Kiran!"

It's just too bad that Shahrukh and Juhi weren't exactly "together" in the film. But Juhi and Sunny do make a fairly good couple in the movie. Though Shahrukh's role was pretty psychotic, I still think he did a great job of playing it and can't possibly imagine anyone else doing that role. No wonder he got an award for Darr in 94'!

Juhi... what can I say??? She looks especially amazing in this film! It's not that she doesn't always look amazing in her other films, but Darr did give the public a wonderful image of her!

As for the music... it was excellent! Especially "Jaadu Teri Nazar," one of my all time favorite songs. I also thought "Tu Mere Samne" was quite nice also.

A must see for everyone! Overall Darr deserves a 9/10!

Ram Jaane (1995)
4/10
HUGE let down.....
10 December 2005
I remember how excited I was to see Ram Jaane, I was thinking to myself "This movie is definitely going to rock like all of Shahrukh and Juhi's other films; I can't wait to see it!" But I was WRONG... Ram Jaane ended up falling way below my expectations. The story itself isn't really that exciting or on the other hand that boring, you could say it's about average.

Also, Shahrukh and Juhi weren't even together at all in this film! I know that SRK was in love with Juhi in Ram Jaane, but she was interested in some other guy which practically took out all the fun of the film itself! As for the acting, I'd have to say that Shahrukh had done a fabulous job playing his role and Juhi did a fairly good job at playing the role of Bela.

I, myself as a fan of Shahrukh-Juhi was really disappointed after watching Ram Jaane and I know that many of the other SRK-Juhi fans were let down as well.

All in all, Ram Jaane deserved a 4/10!

Duplicate (1998)
10/10
My all time favorite film!!!
3 December 2005
I have to say, Duplicate is probably the best film I've ever seen!

Duplicate is basically about two men, Babloo and Manu who happen to have the same face. Babloo dreams of becoming a chef at a five-star hotel, while Manu is a criminal who has escaped from jail and is out to get revenge on his three friends. Babloo is in love with Sonia (Juhi Chawla), the hotel's banquet manager and Manu romances with Lily (Sonali Bendre).

Some parts of the film were hilarious and left me laughing like crazy! It really amazed me how much of an idiot Babloo could be at times, like when he told Manu about an ID card given to him by the police to reduce the confusion between the two. I also found many of Duplicate's action scenes to be quite entertaining.

As for the music, each and every song was excellent and somewhat unique in its own way. I especially enjoyed "Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam." Not only is it an amazing song, but Shahrukh, Juhi and Sonali did an awesome job at performing it!

I thought the acting in the movie was fantastic! Shahrukh did an excellent job playing both roles of Babloo and Manu. Juhi's acting was amazing as usual, and even Sonali did a great job at playing Lily's vampish character.

I myself have watched Duplicate hundreds of times and would recommend it to anyone. This film is guaranteed to leave you satisfied!

Duplicate deserves a 10/10!

Totally brainless movie!
3 December 2005
Eena Meena Deeka was not all that great. The plot may be hilarious and all, but made no sense what so ever! I guess you could pretty much say that Eena Meena Deeka is totally pointless. Watching this film is like practically throwing your brains away!

As for the music, I thought it was OK, but it could've been a little bit better....

There are millions of other Bollywood films out there. If you didn't watch Eena Meena Deeka, believe me; you're not missing ANYTHING! Don't waste your time watching this film, watch something worthwhile!

Overall, Eena Meena Deeka deserves a 3/10!

One 2 Ka 4 (2001)
10/10
Spectacular Movie!!!!
29 November 2005
One 2 Ka 4 is an awesome movie! It has everything one could ask for... action, comedy, romance; One 2 Ka 4 has it all! Juhi was so funny throughout the entire movie, especially in the beginning like when she accidentally sticks a fork into Shahrukh's hand, it left me laughing like crazy! Juhi did an excellent job playing her role. It amazed me how she "transformed" from an over talkative Punjabi girl, to club dancer to an undercover cop! Even Shahrukh shined throughout the film!

As for the songs, I'd have to say One 2 Ka 4 has a very interesting soundtrack. This film offers a wide variety of music ranging from a romantic number like "Sona Nahi Na Sahi" to a catchy dance number like "Osaka Muraiya." One 2 Ka 4's soundtrack is beyond amazing!

I really wonder why critics considered One 2 Ka 4 a "flop" and put it down so much? I think One 2 Ka 4 is a totally cool movie and far from being boring!

Overall, One 2 Ka 4 deserves a 10/10!!!

Daraar (1996)
4/10
WAY too much violence!
29 November 2005
Daraar got off to a pretty good start. The first scene really left me at the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Other than that, the first half of the movie is a total BORE. All the first half of the movie is about is Rishi Kapoor falling head over heels in love with Juhi Chawla. By the way, don't you think he's a little old for her???

Things finally start to spice up towards the middle of the film when Juhi tells us about her previous husband; and wow what a lunatic is he! He was an over-protective, neat-freak with a really HOT TEMPER! He used to beat up poor Juhi for no good reason! One of the reasons I really don't like this movie is because I can't stand to see Juhi (my favorite actress) get so abused. This film in general has WAY too much abuse and bloodshed; I find it so sickening!!!

Anyway, all I'm trying to say is if you're thinking about renting Daraar, you should put it right back on the shelf where you found it and pick something else!

A unique storyline filled with comedy!
15 August 2005
The movie is about Asmi Ganatra (Juhi Chawla), a woman who dreams of becoming a famous director. She then visits the Joshi family, requesting that she use their upcoming family wedding as a part of her TV serial. The bride's father agrees to the idea, but the rest of the family refuses, thinking that they will lose their right of privacy. Asmi is disappointed at their decision, but doesn't give up just yet. She then comes to realize that Manoj Joshi (Irrfan Khan), the bride's youngest uncle has fallen in love with her. She manages to talk him into an arrangement where hundreds of cameras would be installed in the huge house. Manoj gives in and agrees to the deal. The family, unaware of the hidden cameras continue to act like their normal, everyday selves. Over some time, Manoj realizes that he has made a huge mistake. His family's privacy gets invaded by secret cameras, and incidents that should be kept secret are revealed. But the story doesn't end just there, it goes on further... more secrets are revealed... some that may even change the story's plot... to find out what happens next, watch 7 1/2 Phere...

I, honestly think this is a great movie. What makes 7 1/2 Phere unique is its storyline; it is unlike any other Hindi film I have ever seen.In addition to that, the movie is loaded with comedy. I especially thought Juhi's acting was as great as ever and she looks beautiful as always. The only downside to the movie is it's not really the kind of movie you would want to see over and over again, but I would recommend it to anyone.
