A perfect example of how to get things wrong
13 December 2022
This movie should be a lesson/demo on how to start with an original brilliant idea and mess it up to the Nth degree!

Reading the writer/directors interview about the initial concept and idea, this movie goes that far from it that you feel you could have done a much better job at it or on the original premise. So many beautiful things could have come out of this original concept! Alas.

What is left is some good actors wasting their efforts on a mixed up, confused and completely lost of an effort for a movie.

Yet there have been so many good ones that are on similar or even closely approximate lines that we can take inspiration from - Her, Zoe to name a few.

Excellent time waster

Warning: Spoilers
This demonstrates an excellent recipe for keeping the viewer engaged with useless drama. I'm just hoping and praying that real international crime units don't work this shabby, because if they do, good help us! Sorry if this gives out any spoilers!

Disappointing production
23 August 2020
After watching only 2/3 of the first season, i felt like giving up. Many serious flaws in storylines, plots, characters and direction throughout the episodes. I wanted to enjoy another Italian crime series, having fallen for Montalbano (young and old!) big time. But this seems to be created by kids with innocent and naive mind of pre-teens.

Mature, bold and sensitive too if handled with grace, sweetness and beauty
29 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't resist providing a positive review. Very rarely do I come across pure gold.

A rather mature and debatable topic has been handled with grace, sensitivity and beauty. I cannot recall having seen anything as beautiful and amazing with similar topic. This production reminds me of 'My Rainy Days' (2009) 'Tenshi no koi' (original title). I take a bow to the whole production team, starting from the novelist who wrote the novel, to the editor who put it all together. Just because I'm being super critical that I am rating it as a 9/10 - it is near perfect anyway. Kim Go-eun is a very talented actress. Having seen her two other major productions I can truly appreciate her talent.

I was waiting with baited breath for a proper ending for this beautiful experience. It was delivered to near-perfect expectation. The movie left me with a warm smile.

A potent topic poorly scripted through a weak storyline
27 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Given a very potent and debatable topic, I feel the writer has not justified the topic promptly, maturely or courageously in the way that the topic deserved, assuming that the writer wanted to justify the topic in consideration. Since this was released in 1999, it was probably way ahead of its time. Nonetheless, the script probably was written to score ratings through melodrama and cliff hangers, as most of opportunities for rational, logical and straightforward plotlines have been ignored. I rated this series for its potential, rather than the actual outcome. I applaud the courage of the writers and producers for opening up this can in the first place.

"Do not run on to a busy road" -16 hrs to realize why
29 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A potent theme/subject/topic of time travel poorly executed through a feeble plot line (with lots of plot holes) and very confusing and unhelpful editing.

Without giving too much away, I'd say that no amount of time travel will give anyone ability to play God in order to prevent simple human stupidity. Something that most kids recognize all over the world - not to run on to a busy road- seems the main reason in the plot at the end in the series; The lead female character, aged 30+, runs on to the middle of a very busy 6-lane road junction to retrieve a paper marriage registration certificate, knocked out and blown away by a passer-by. If it's that important why wasn't it tucked away safe inside a folder rather than being waved around while held in hand, and even if it gets lost, it is a paper document after all- a reissue could have been requested later. If that is a plot hole, I've just illustrated one of many. You get my point.

Nonetheless, this series (and many others) does make me convinced that if multi-universe theory is true then time travel would be a futile attempt anyway, even if it was made possible. With multitude of time-lines, it would deem sensible to just live your life to the fullest in the time-line that you are in, rather than waste time trying to affect other time-lines with inconsequential outcomes.

Exciting feel-good roller-coaster of emotions that leaves you feeling happy
25 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
One indicator of a brilliant drama is its capability to take the audience through maximum different emotions. This drama scores very high on that respect. When a person rides a roller- coaster, it is important that the transitions from one maneuver to the next is as smooth as possible. This drama takes you through transitions very smoothly throughout. I p*ssed myself laughing at some scenes while shed tears at others. Although there is a bit of melodrama at few times, the entire cast has done a brilliant job at acting (there is no over-acting by any character). By the end I had warmed up to every character in the drama. The chemistry between the main two characters feels so real. Dong-Wook Lee has been brilliant and its been great seeing an actor of his caliber. It was my first time seeing Ryeowon Jung but she did remind me of Go-eun Kim from Goblin. A very hopeful and feel-good drama that at times seem to take unnecessary turns but overall leaves you feeling good. I wanted to leave a review since there is no plot summary added. It is one of the best k dramas I have seen in a long while. Absolutely loved it.

Being adorable and successful in the 21st century
7 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A perfect demonstration of how in today's world personality traits of being callous, innocent, naive and gullible aren't looked as attractive, lovable or even charming when it comes to chasing dreams. It is very adorable to dream, and to dream big. Even if one doesn't have the skills to attain them, they have the responsibility to develop the skills to achieve those dreams. The above mentioned qualities don't help. One needs to be shrewd, wise, self-aware, and competent. That doesn't mean one should be cruel, sly, corrupt or deceptive either. The world can still be a better place by being good.

love in the 21st century
28 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
It is only because of some weird and absurd rule of IMDb for the review to have more than 5 lines that I'm forced to string futile words so I can make this review post valid. Otherwise this series deserved one word review - c*ap. I guess if in a series where insanity, idiocy, immoral and unethical selfish behavior can be justified as love, I could include some more memorable works by accomplished writers - Misery, Fatal attraction, Dead calm ; you get my drift. I thought love was supposed to be pristine, hallowed and pure. But what does a fool know. Given from the popular ratings that this series has had, I guess in today's world love is meant to be what this series portrays it to be. Whatever it may be, this series takes the biscuit!

20 hrs
18 September 2017
I am wondering if I saw the wrong series in the place of the correct one. I wonder if I was watching this series with half a brain for me to have missed everything good that is recited about this series. In any case, one thing is very sure - I'm never going to get back the 20 hours I spent watching this series. That is nearly a whole day. Even if I had slept for those many hours I would had better dreams.

A tender, graceful and mature Korean drama about relationships and inevitable love
11 September 2017
One of the best Korean drama I've watched so far. The script is very well written. Both the lead actors have done brilliant jobs of conveying their characters. Supporting actors have complemented the story appropriately. I fell in love with the theme song - only you. The first time I saw the drama, I didn't like the way the story moved in the last few episodes. But having seen it the second time, I can now fully appreciate the script writer's perspective. The movie has to be seen within the cultural settings. The direction is so tender and skilfully done. A very complicated social situation has been handled with grace, tenderness and maturity for once without compromising the ending just to appease the audience.

A sweet yet simple message of goodwill, collaboration and well-being
24 December 2016
I try my hardest not to provide any spoilers in this review.

A very simple yet sweet message delivered effectively through a popular theme of scifi. A script with multiple levels of wisdom, it has a good blend of thought and vision for a range of viewers to enjoy.

The movie is truthful about its trailer to entice and faithful to deliver the expectation without much compromise.

We all share a single planet. Whether we chose it or not, we have been placed here and we have a life to live. Yes we could spend it trying to kill each other, but we still need each other for various reasons - whether we understand them all or not. Yet if we give it a fair shot, we would realize the immense beauty and bliss in getting along together, so much so that we would feel foolish not to have done it much earlier.

"Don't get so wrapped up in where you'd rather be that you forget to make the most of where you are." "You die...I die."
