Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
10/10
My mind exploding.
20 July 2023
As Cillian Murphy said, this movie will grab you in the neck and make you fully invest in the whole movie. And that's what it did to me. Oppenheimer is a different level of horrifying movie that will stick with you the next, next, day (or your whole life) and just fully "explode" your mind. Just be prepared to be on the edge of your seat as this gripping movie takes you on an exhilarating rollercoaster of emotions and suspense.

It's the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb, and when you thought it will end there, no it's not. That's why Christopher Nolan is called the Master of Storytelling and this is one of his most ambitious work. Everything you expected for is nothing you ever wished for. It's moving on very fast-paced, you will miss it if you blink. This movie will played with you, you'll almost never know what's coming. It's 3 hours long run, Nolan could make it 4 hours and I wouldn't even complain.

Cinematography? A f-cking painting. Music? A f-cking opera. Acting? A f-cking cinema. Story? A f-cking shakespeare. Directing? A f-cking Christopher Nolan. Just had to write it in Thomas Selby's way. This is a masterpiece. Cillian Murphy and the whole cast deserve an Oscar. The way the whole cast embodied their character and just... this folks, ain't a movie, it's an experience. If you had a chance to watch it on IMAX, you are very lucky.

I had to take a few deep breath.
3 December 2022
Gosh, I really didn't know where to start, this movie left me speechless. Follows Damir, who's struggling with depression and trying to take his own life while his brother and mother want to save him, and everything happens over a period of just 24 hours. This is one of the few movies that connect to me, in the most depressing way. You don't need the whole backstory, you don't need reasons, this movie chains me astounded.

Heartbreaking, upsetting, and utterly poignant, Sigurno Mjesto is a slow-burn movie that deeply moving and a masterpiece of sorrow. I have to pause and take a deep breath for once, then continue to watch. It's raw, honest, and beautifully depicts the trauma and depression, surrounding the family. It's an invisible war within yourself.

It was a masterpiece, such a beautiful film with emotional storytelling and gorgeous cinematography that strongly showed the atrocious feelings of depression and fear of losing. Highly recommended.

Have you ever got a warm hug from a movie?
26 June 2022
I wasn't expecting anything when I watched this movie but turns out I just got a big warm hug from it. Cha Cha Real Smooth is the pure heartfelt, sincere, and heartwarming I have ever felt from watching a movie this year. It's a bittersweet coming-of-age movie about a 22-year-old Andrew (Cooper Raiff), fresh out of college and stuck at his home without a clear path forward, he begins working as a party starter where he strikes up a friendship with a young mom (Dakota Johnson) and her teenage daughter.

You will never walk out the same after watching this movie and that's what I liked about it. Cooper Raiff is such a talented and gifted director, what makes him different from most of the directors is how he is genuinely capable of being related to the audience on a personal level. He is engaging not only how the way he directed it but also in how he writes it, and to add, played the character. The story is what I needed right now, the dialogues are just simply beautiful and touching. (Mind me, I also just got fresh out from the college lol)

Dakota Johnson's performance as a supporting actress is breathtaking and their chemistry is absolutely striking. I almost feel like the entire time of the movie they just let the eyes do the speaking, and it's working. My memories aren't going anywhere, especially for this movie. I can't wait to see more of Cooper Raiff's work in the future. Definitely a must-see.

Elvis (2022)
7/10
Less Baz, more Austin.
24 June 2022
Title: Elvis

Rating: 7/10

Follow the story of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler), from his childhood in Mississippi to his rise to stardom starting in Memphis, Tennessee, and his conquering of Las Vegas, Nevada, Elvis Presley becomes the first rock 'n roll star and changes the world with his music. Elvis Presley has inspired many, his life is such a wild ride. I'm a big fan of Baz Luhrmann's work, Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies of all time. But personally, this is not my favorite.

The story comes from the perspective of Elvis's manager, Colonel Parker (Tom Hanks). In the first minutes, you'll watch the extravagant style of Baz Luhrmann, and it always starts with a tragedy, also added with the tragedy of Tom Hanks prosthetics.. of course. The cinematography and editing are glamorous, this is so-called a Baz Luhrmann movie at its finest. Even though I'm not a fan of the first act, the third act is glorious. However, the movie is too goddamn long, it bloated with a full of emotion.. or perhaps it blooms into a beautiful mess, you'll see.

Now let's talk about Austin Butler, his acting is 10/10 itself. His performance is one of my performances by actors ever. The way he transform himself in the lifetime of Elvis Presley is magnificent, no ordinary actor could do this. His expression, his walk, and the way he looks, in every frame are just as phenomenal as every Elvis's performance. His hand will be full of every award as he should be.

Entertaining racing movie that'll make you sit on the edge of your seat.
16 November 2019
One hell of a ride, your heart will beat and race faster while watching this movie especially if you are a fan of racing cars or etc. Directed by James Mangold (Logan, Walk the Line). Based on true story about American automotive designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and British race car driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale), together they plan to compete against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966. The story itself was so emotional and adrenalin pumping, I'd really recommend if you haven't know the story yet before watching this movie. I'm not really a fan of racing cars but I'm not disappointed either with this one, either you fan or not- you'll enjoy this movie.

It's not just about the cars even the race or the business, that's why I liked this movie. It is personal, heartfelt, and touching. With all the long racing scene it won't even bore you, I wasn't even know before about the rivalry between Ford and Ferrari back then but big bravo on the writer and director, the racing scenes had me sitting up on the edge of my seat! This movie manages to get the audience feel the excitement and thrill of racing. A strong screenplay with phenomenal performance by Christian Bale and Matt Damon, not to mention other supporting actors like Noah Jupe and Josh Lucas. The chemistry between Bale and Damon is engaging, their characters fit so well.

Solid movie from start to finish, I'd really recommend you to watch it with IMAX. One of the best movies for this year. The ending may wasn't explored enough but if you know the real story, you might know why it wasn't explored enough. It is for the best I guess.

Joker (I) (2019)
10/10
One of the best Psychological Thriller movies & breathtaking performance.
3 October 2019
Honestly, I'm still speechless but let me say this first- Joaquin Phoenix delivers one of the best performances I've ever seen. Joaquin Phoenix's performance never ever let me down, and this is one of the best of his performance ever. It's so depressing, dark, you can feel his emotions so deeply, the way he embodied the role of Joker and somehow you feel empathize for this disturbed and violent character.. it just blew me off.

If you just love cinema, you gotta see this movie either you love Marvel or DC- doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all, what you gonna witnessed is one of the histories of cinema, everything about this movie is a masterpiece and brilliant. But if you just expect the action scenes, for sure you'll be disappointed because this movie is only about how Arthur Fleck become Joker, one of the most iconic comic book villain. The entire time I felt so sorry for Arthur, I want to hug him, I felt so bad for him and I just don't want him to do such bad things. I know it is ridiculous because hey it's Joker but when you saw Arthur, you saw a different person. You will see someone growing onto something evil, disturbing and violent.

On every scene, I was always hooked- you won't miss a single thing in this movie, you will keep your toes all the time and stunned by Phoenix performance, cinematography, art, scoring and obviously Todd Philips does a wonderful job for directing and writing this movie, so mesmerizing. I don't know what to tell you more because I don't want to spoil that much but you gotta see this movie, for sure this movie will make some of you uncomfortable in some way but that's the magic of movie. You don't want to miss this masterpiece. I was so blown away especially with the third act. The character development, suspense, and twisting are so beautifully crafted with all of these elements because it's working and so satisfied.

Ignore the critics.
30 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First I wanna thank Michael Dougherty for this movie, the writers and the rest of the whole crew. Finally, a Godzilla movie we deserve and exceed my expectations. They did a hell of great work to gave us the real 'King of the Monsters'. The action scenes are remarkable and breathtaking. Great plot. The visuals are stunning, unforgettable, and astonishing. The music is awesome and phenomenal, help to elevates the film onto another level. This is a masterpiece for monster movies, most of the scene I felt so emotional and the shots are really extraordinary. It's like a painting and big bravo to the creative team. I don't get it why the critics are hating on this movie, if you want more 'humans' than the 'monsters' then it's not the movie's fault, clearly, you guys don't read the movie title and missing the point.

You don't want to miss a single thing in this movie, except maybe some of the part when humans are talking. I really like the part when they are trying to help Godzilla but not the 'family issue'. Your brother, your kid- whatever. We don't care. Don't get me wrong, their acting is not that bad but the relationship between Godzilla and Mothra even more emotional and important than that kid and her mom. I hope in the next movie, Godzilla VS Kong (2020) they'll listen to what the fans want. More monsters, fewer humans.

Us (II) (2019)
10/10
Mind-Blowing and Terrifying.
20 March 2019
Us is 2019 American psychological horror film directed by Jordan Peele. It's about Adelaide Wilson (played by Lupita Nyong'o) who returns to her house in Santa Cruz, where she grew up as a child for summer vacation. She is haunted by a traumatic experience from the past and concerned something bad is going to happen. Then it did, a group of their doppelgangers showed up at night begins to terrorize them. All dressed in red jumpsuits and carrying golden scissors.

The film stars are Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker. All of them are talented and amazing. Their expression and gestures are not so different from Jordan previous film, Get Out. Unlikely Get Out, this movie had some jokes, well at some point this movie can make you laugh while getting scared. The performance of Lupita is so impressive, she's playing two different characters. Adelaide is a protective mother of two children and Red is a lunatic person.

From the beginning to an end, it shows us a lot of foreshadowing and getting more complicated also appalling. It's been a hell of a ride and insanely good. The story does an outstanding job of building up the tension for the story and building the character developments. There are a lot of symbolism and meanings throughout this film, like Rabbits and Scissors. The script of Us is so structured and detailed, but still a lot of plotholes and some logical issues.

The sound editing and music of this movie is so terrifying and creepy, and make this movie even more perfect! Bravo, Michael Abels! The cinematography of this movie is the next level, there are a lot of stunning and intense shots in this movie that I can't wait to share. This movie is well-edited with the shots, the story, as well as the pacing.

This movie will make you think deeper not only a minutes after watching this but also the next day. Overall, Us is an amazing movie that different from any kind of Horror Thriller movie and Jordan Peele is a hell of a genius. Totally recommended and worth a watch for a thousand times.

A Major Disappointment
7 March 2019
It is so hard to say that this movie was such a disappointment. I do really excited about it even before the trailer came out, and I really ignore the haters. But, I was expecting so much more. First of all, Brie Larson, she is such a good actress and not to mention Samuel L Jackson. The chemistry between Carol and Fury's (also Goose) is one of the best part of this entire movie. Action scenes are pretty good as always. Such an enjoyable ride, a pretty good entertainment. But that's it, those are Most likely, it is a highly forgettable film.

She is the 'most powerful' superhero in the MCU, but really I don't buy it. Even when she is showing off her superpower, I still don't feel it. It's not like the moment when the first time I saw Iron Man, or Thor in Ragnarok. This movie is so fast-paced, also the pacing is flat and dull - maybe because they are kinda in rush on End Game? I always believe she had something more than just to save the world from Thanos, but this movie can not tell me anything. The label of 'most powerful' superhero is not in it. Entire movie is just too way forced.

Pretty good CGI especially with the de-aging of early SHIELD Agents but sometimes I can spot the visual effects that kinda look like a PS4 game. Oh yes, the villain! The most boring villain in the entire MCU for the.. most powerful superhero!? It's not fit. Also stop it with the unnecessary jokes, come on. Although Captain Marvel is set in the mid-'90s, the soundtrack is not working. How can Star-Lord moving into planet to planet having some badass playlist while they are on earth.. have none?

Overall it's recommended only for the end-credit scene and the Marvel title.

One of the best documentaries.
17 February 2019
I can't believe I've just watched all the episodes in one day - it's already 4AM. Horrifying, fascinating, and absolute dark. You won't able to stop watching it. I've read a bunch of an article about him a years ago before I've watched this documentary. What he did was horrifying, and the worst - I did read other serial killers but for me he is the worst of the worst. We, as an audience can understand about the horror of him, the other side of him, how dark the time when it happened - and this guy don't deserve any credit at all. I felt goosebumps just saw him smile. Very well put, and descriptive. But between this documentary and wikipedia - the wikipedia describes more about how he did all the horrifying things than the documentary. People may find this documentary boring because Ted won't tell his secret at all in his tapes - he was very careful. This documentary can't tell how scary this man was but if we're going deeply into that - I think I only can watch one eps. Recommended.

The Upside (2017)
8/10
Fun and pretty good remake film!
17 February 2019
The Upside is a remake of the French film "The Intouchables". Based on a true story, Phillip Lacasse played by Bryan Cranston is disabled white billionaire. He hires Del an African American played by Kevin Hart to help him in his day to day routine.

This is a simple movie that heart warming, charming, and funny at the same time. I enjoyed very much watching this film, it was fantastic - but I think the original forever will be the best one. Still, this is not a bad one, actually it is really amazing film even though it's not masterpiece as the original. Amazing performance and chemistry by Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart, they played their roles really well. For me, Kevin seems not forced to being the 'funny' one here, his humor brought when needed and he did an amazing job. Well done!

From light-hearted went to surprisingly dark.
17 February 2019
An amazing true story that gave us proof how strange life is. The film is about three young men who were all adopted meet each other after 19 years and find out they're triplets who were separated at birth. It's not stop there - the journey continues and their quest to find out what exactly happened.

For the story, it begins with a new student go to his first day at college. He doesn't know people there but, strangely people are greeted him like "Hi! we miss you!" "Glad you back!" -- and he find out that he has an identical twin. What's more interesting is they thought it just only two, but three - they are triplets!

From the beginning to an end, it kept my interest - tells us an fascinating story.. a crazy one! Well told stories, written and very emotional. This film is so honest yet it's hard to believe. "When I tell my story, people don't believe me. I wouldn't believe it, if the story was told to me!" After you watch the movie, you wanting to know more. It begins with happy reunion and it end by tragedy. The story suddenly grows dark, they were basically lab rats used by scientific study. These triplets were kept apart on purpose, they have suffered. One of the best documentaries, recommended.

You (2018–2024)

I'm obsessed.
17 February 2019
If you have no idea what to watch now on Netflix, watch this right now. I loved every episode. It is so intense, Penn Badgley is outstanding - you don't want to miss a single moment! His performance and portrayal of Joe is amazing - I am very impressed. Captivating storytelling and such an addiction, the characters were so developed and not dull.

The story is about Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) who falls in love at first sight with Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and becomes obsessed with her. We are viewing the story through Joe's mind and eyes, I like the concept but if you are the person who easily get bored by ton of narration maybe you'll end up don't like it. I watched this without any expectation, and I haven't read the book but I'm amazed - I was not prepared.

I really love Joe's character because he does all those horrifying things but he saw himself doing those things like it is not wrong, he's doing that to protect someone he truly loves. That's true, mostly abusers don't see themselves as an abusers. And somehow I feel sympathy for Joe but at the same time he is psychopath. The writers did an excellent job. Recommended!

The Umbrella Academy (2019–2024)
9/10
Bizarre and Fantastic.
17 February 2019
One of the best Netflix Superhero show - and it's not from Marvel or DC. I've been waiting for this series since the first trailer came out, but I haven't read the comic yet, maybe after this I'll read some! The concept is not so different from X-Men, group of kids who's having a 'special' powers. It's so bizzare but interesting. The cast and their performances are outstanding especially Aidan Gallagher - one of the biggest breakout stars this year. The Umbrella Academy is full of tragic characters, also the trauma cause by family.. or 'daddy issues'

The story is about seven kids are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his "children" to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. The storyline is great, also the character development. Filled with epic and outstanding action, each of characters have their own charisma and incredible talent. Ellen Page is amazing as always, Robert Sheehan is so lunatic. Not to mention the dynamic duo, Cameron Britton and Mary J. Blige! Also many many creative aspects, love it. Almost forgot, the soundtracks are absolutely amazing! Made the show even more better!

Recommended, worth a watch.

Aquaman (2018)
8/10
The King has Risen.
15 December 2018
Better than any DCEU film, and some of MCU movies I think. The DC has step up their game - this is another level. Never had I expected this movie will this be good, after the Justice League and Batman V Superman because those movies are trash - and let's forget about those. This is the most ambitious comic-book movie I've ever seen so far. Finally a movie that DC fanboy deserves, this film is just beautiful within the cinematography, visuals, also the action scenes. The action scenes kinda remind me of Romanticism painting, it is visually stunning and breathtakingly beautiful. I'm not a fan of James Wan movies but he did a marvelous job for Aquaman. The cast are outstanding, badass performances. I don't think any actors can take the role of Aquaman better than Jason Momoa. The atmosphere of this film looks magnificent vibrant and has high-quality than any DCEU film. Finally we can see the light after those dark days. It has clear motivations for both heroes and villains, pretty solid.

But, DCEU really need to fix their poor lines. The writing isn't the best - some dialogues are still cheesy & awkward. Nothing new for the plot, but it is simply enough - almost the same with any superhero film - save the world, family issues, etc. But it has a great message about polluting the water. Also the film scoring and soundtrack was a miss. And I don't see how and why Black Manta is the best villains, his story kinda flat and lacking for me. Black Manta has daddy issues seems not enough for me to think he is the best villain.

Afterall, this is highly recommended movie for superhero movie fans. Also you have to watch it in an IMAX 3D. Worth it.

Have some potential but boring & predictable.
7 December 2018
I've seen a lot movies like this, so I think this movie is not for me - it's for the newcomers. Great visuals, CGI looks good also the cinematography but the story has some flaws and the characters are flat and annoying. Useless sub plots, I don't think it's necessary and lame.

Zero empathy for characters, wasted talent of Hugo Weaving - the only reason why I want to watch this movie. Although the first scene of the movie looks promising.

Another thing that I hate about this movie, there's some line in this movie like "I don't want to tell you." then they looking at each other, and then "5 years ago..." and I'm like.. w-what.. the hell...

One of the best movie I've ever seen.
5 November 2018
This movie is what i was expecting. Well, I was expecting it will be sort of another teen drama movie with some romantic scene, and ended up.. you know.. 'like the other films that i've seen hundred times before', but turns out this move it's more than i was expecting. I love the storyline, i love those characters. This movie wil drive you crazy, but also a film that you could enjoy with.

Actually, the story is simple. The story is about Daniel played by Timothee Chalamet, he is socially awkward 18 years old that become a criminal drug dealer after he met Hunter Strawberry played by Alex Roe, you might know him from The Fifth Wave.

I love the cinematography, the framing, it is caught my attention. It is perfecly fit, that is why it'll make the differences from another drama movies. Bring us a 80's vibes, because it is a thing now.. trend? and everyone loves it. Although the movie is predictable, but the acting was good, very good. Timothee Chalamet has become a face of Young Hollywood.

Venom (2018)
8/10
Fun Thrilling movie.
5 November 2018
It's not a perfect movie, and it's not Oscar worthy. It is a Venom movie that fun filled with crazy action ride. I really like the relationship between Eddie and Venom, even though the story seemed messy, and there's some plot holes. Tom Hardy did a fantastic job, amazing as always. The film is completely different from the trailer -- much much better. And the mid credit scene make it even more better!

It was quite fun, entertaining, thrilling film. I hope it was R rated but Sony decided to cut it down to a PG-13, for any potential tieins with the Spider-Man MCU. The action was cool but the villain is cliche and no surprise at all. It could've been alot better, but it's not terrible. Nothing really memorable except "We are Venom" part. There's no futher explanation for what happen with the villain and the lab.

Extraordinary & Mind-blowing.
2 November 2018
Rami Malek will be forever one of my favorite actors since the day I've watched Mr Robot, I knew he will be one of the biggest star someday. Freddie Mercury is legend, everyone loves him but not everyone knows his story. Freddy Mercury is fearless, but not everyone knows about his desperately lonely. I dont't know how accurate the storytelling is but this movie is absolutely mind blowing and brilliant, such a perfect tribute to the legend!

I'm not saying this movie is perfect or masterpiece, infact this movie has some issues with the director and delayed. But after I walk out of the theater, my heart is filled with joy, tears of happiness, brought so many emotions. That's how you know the movie is fantastic, darling. The casting was brilliant, bravo! I can't get enough with Rami Malek, he obviously worked so hard, Rami Malek pulls off an amazing performance, he just brings Freddie back to life and I don't think you will see any better film about Freddie Mercury again. It's an oppurtunity of a lifetime, every aspects of this movie was executed beautifully. Also the whole cast was so close to perfection! Gwilym as Brian May, Ben as Roger, and Joseph as John are amazing as Rami. Truly magnificent. I recommend to go and see this movie, whether you are fans of Queen or not.
