The Nines (2007)
Best movie I saw at Sundance
It's a "9" This was the best movie I saw at Sundance Film Festival. An extremely creative script broken into three smaller stories where the actors play three sets of different roles... or do they?
Spoiler Alert!
This movie encompasses Psychology, Metaphysical multi-dimensional Theory, personal philosophy, and Theology. As a Seminarian, I loved this movie. It demonstrates an image of God that is believable but challenges most religions view of the omni-present, omni-loving, and omni-powerful God. It begs the question and reminds you of the song title, "What if God was one of us?"
Practically, this movie is three smaller stories all brought together when the secret is revealed. The first segment is a Comedy, the second a reality TV series, and the third a Drama. When the third segment starts you're ready to get serious, and delightfully surprised.
I gained a new respect for Ryan Reynolds as an actor, you fall in love Melissa McCarthy, and in the all is well with God... and all is well with us.
The Living Daylights (1987)
I agree
I agree with Bobilicious2000, this was an excellent Bond. I voted an 8, and that's liberal for Bonds. Based on this movie, Dalton was on his way to many more Bonds, and no one could have predicted the License to "Ill" that would follow. That movie could have been much better. Along with OHMSS, this movie was one of the best forgotten Bond films. I haven't seen the New Casino Royale as of yet, and I'm still skeptical. Wouldn't it be great to make a film with all the Bonds having a cameo that would explain the succession? I actually wrote a basic plot line for a two part movie that would do just that, but that was before they cut Brosnon loose.
Murder in Coweta County (1983)
Remake this Movie
I agree with the other comments, Griffith and Cash are great. THis made for TV movie is surprisingly edgy. The "N" word, which is common in the book and for that time, was used repeatedly by Griffith, who was a stark contrast to Matlock and Mayberry. My biggest disappointment with this movie is that that is was not filmed in Coweta County, or at least they didn't use our courthouse. Also, they didn't use the Old Jail in Greenville, which still stands today. I'd like to see this movie remade on location, with a Hollywood budget, and at least one major start. The most important Character that would need to be played by a major star would most likely be John Wallace the villain. Over all, for a TV movie it's worth watching.
