Baby Reindeer (2024)
What a wild ride
Amazing series. I did not know what to expect but ended up binge watching the entire series in one go.
I did not see the twist coming, I thought it was just a "normal" stalking movie. Richard Gunn did a fantastic job at telling his story. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry and it makes you uncomfortable.
The characters were insanely good and you could tell that he spent a lot of time hiring the right actors. Martha was crazy!
The layers and layers of trauma were presented so well, each and every one, I did not see coming. How can one person live such a life in such a short amount of years?
Baby Ruby (2022)
Not sure why this received such bad reviews
It's not too bad, it dragged out a bit and yes the crying is annoying but it depicted a side of PPD that most people are not aware exists.
PPD isn't just feeling bad about yourself, not connecting with your child or feeling sad, it can lead to psychosis and this was a view through the mind of someone in denial that anything is wrong.
The ending is really odd and I didn't get. I would have liked to see a follow up months after she got home or something rather than her running through the forest passing her baby off to the good/bad her. I don't even know which side of her ended up taking the baby!
Other than that, I enjoyed it and it is worth a one time watch in my opinion.
Sound of Freedom (2023)
Wow...just wow.
The fact that this is based on a true story is insane to me.
Main actor was brilliant. I would have liked to see how much time the people involved in the island raid for but this isn't about them so I understand why.
This was almost shown through the eyes of a child, Tim's determination to do the right thing gives me faith in humanity.
This film was not afraid to push boundaries and really show the raw and horrific crime of child sex trafficking.
It made my hold my kid that much tighter because he is safe at home in his bed.
I loved seeing the real Tim at the end, what a true hero. Him and his team!
Pig (2021)
Terrible ending
What an odd film.
Don't get me wrong, I love me an odd film but clearly this one went way over my head because I was so upset that he didn't get the pig back.
I huffed and puffed in frustration and sadness at the last 5mins when I realised the dad wasn't pulling his leg and that he just walked home pigless.
To his grotty bush shed with the little pig bed still there.
I then read another review on here which explained the ending so I raised my rating.
Pig should have had more screen time. I also kept wondering throughout the movie what would happen if he did get the pig, how would he get it home? Would he expect pig to walk all that way? Would he put it in the sons sports car?
I guess we will never know BECAUSE HE DID NOT GET THE PIG BACK AND I AM STILL UPSET ABOUT IT.
You Don't Know Me (2021)
What happened to Curt?!
I liked the idea however I kept thinking "can a closing statement really be 5 days long?"
It was a different type of normal court room drama with a lot of great twists that kept you guessing.
Actors were good, especially Curt.
Ending ruined it though, just close the damn story! I get what they were trying to do leaving it open to your interpretation but....it was just frustrating that I yelled out loud.
I wish we knew how Curt ended up, he was my favourite of the lot and he got thrown under the bus big time, if he didn't already die, his mate made sure he was going to.
To be fair to Jamil, he did warn the main guy multiple times to sort out Kyra.
Hush (2016)
Too dark
90% of this movie is too dark, I couldn't see anything!
