Ghost Wars (2017)
A credible ghost story, great acting and directing.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well the actors got into their roles, and how this must have been partly due to the director. Kim Coates was my favorite actor in this series (this surprised me because I haven't really been a big fan of his - but I am now), but even so, his acting just edged out several others who performed wonderfully. It's a ghost story, but it is also a story of a remote Alaskan town, with the town folk arguing with each other as they gradually start to accept that there is something supernatural going on. I think some of the same team went on to create Vampire Wars which pretty good, but not as good as Ghost Wars.
October Faction (2020)
Good acting and directing.
The storyline is based on supernatural events, and its not the spookiness that I like. It's the characters and the dialogue - everybody, even small parts characters, have a noticeable personality, usually with an edge. Makes it fun to watch.
The Social Dilemma (2020)
A superb and timely documentary.
This documentary should be watched. The free ride we get from membership in the myriad of social networks has a cost in terms of privacy and manipulation. Watch this and see why and how.
To Serve and Protect (1993)
You are mmmbusted!
The perpetrators often resist arrest while arguing that they are cooperating or while demanding a detailed conversation about the law. Bystanders get involved and ignore warnings to stay out of the way until they are also arrested for obstruction of justice. But these verbal disagreements with the police always evaporate quickly when a police dog is involved in the chase. I think the dog chases are my favorites.
This eight season show was filmed from 1993-2001 and shot in Edmonton, Alberta and Greater Vancouver British Columbia area. Released on Netflix recently with good video and sound, and presumably available on DVD.
I think an update with body cameras and street cameras would be popular.
