Quinceañera (1987–1988)
Quinsenera
18 August 2005
This soapopera was good. Thalia's first leading role in a "telenovela". It becomes the first soap opera produced in Mexico for young audiences. Also produced by Carla Estrada, it included the participation of actress Adela Noriega as Maricruz in the leading role along with Thalía. Thalía plays Beatriz, the daughter of a wealthy family. She and her friend Maricruz - who is not so wealthy - are about to turn 15, an age when they will leave their childhood behind. Beatriz falls in love with Maricruz's brother, a young man who takes advantage of her and leaves her pregnant. The storyline generated a lot of controversy due to the fact that Beatriz got pregnant at such a young age. As a result, the Mexican press published articles about the subject and talked about the misinformation that children sometimes receive from parents. With this role, Thalía grew closer to the public, but especially caught the attention of all those teens who were facing the same problematic situation.

Thalía plays the leading role in her last soap opera, "Rosalinda", in 1998. It has been called the "Titanic" of "telenovelas" and the most-awaited soap of the century. "Rosalinda" brought Thalía back to the small screen after a three-year hiatus. It was sold in approximately 60 countries even before it was written, just because Thalía was secured as the leading lady. She acted by the side of leading man, Venezuelan actor, Fernando Carrillo. The storyline also focused an a poor young girl who grew up to become a rich and refined woman, but with a twist! With "Rosalinda", Thalía, the Queen of "telenovelas", secured the title of Mexico's top actress. It is Thalia's last soap opera, since she has been concentrating in her career as a singer, until she find an adequate next project.

Humble Maria (1995–1996)
Excellent!!!!!!

In 1995, Thalía plays a leading role in "María la del Barrio", the third soap opera of the "María" trilogy. Soap stars Fernando Colunga and Itati Contoral, amongst others, were part of the superb cast. In the last María "telenovela", Thalia portrays María la del Barrio, a scavenger who is adopted by a rich businessman, and falls in love with Luis Fernando (Colunga), an arrogant, rich man. María married Luis Fernando, had a baby with him, but gave the baby away during a temporary bout of insanity. In this tragic-comedy she portrayed a happy, genuine and full of life young girl, who later turned into a suffering woman grieving for her lost child. It does have a happy ending, though!!! The soap opera, without a doubt, touched young and adult audiences around the world due to its innocent, entertaining and enchanting storyline. After the "María" trilogy of soap operas circled the globe, a census showed that they have been viewed by more than a billion people around the World!

Thalía plays the leading role in "Marimar", the second soap opera of the "María" trilogy, where she is yet another peasant girl. She lived by the sea with her grandparents, and fell in love with Sergio, the son of the owner of an "hacienda". Sergio's family disapproved of the relationship, especially after the couple married. The cast included renowned soap opera figures such as co-host Eduardo Capetillo and actress Chantal Andere. This soap marks the beginning of Thalia's international exposure- it is distributed in 180 countries and translated in all languages, stealing the hearts of millions of fans around the World. It paralyzed TV in entire countries, such as Brazil, Mauritius, Indonesia, the Philippines and many others. It also opened new markets in Europe, Asia and the rest of South America, where she traveled to give concerts in Spanish, her native language.

María Mercedes (1992–1993)
Maria Mercedez
18 August 2005
In 1992, Thalía plays leading role in María Mercedes, the first of a successful and unique trilogy of soap operas where she would play poor, young girls called María. In María Mercedes, the character had to raise her family on her own. Eventually she fell in love with Jorge Luis, a rich man. The amazing cast included co-star, Arturo Peniche, and Thalia's sister, Laura Zapata as the villain. This was the first time Thalía shared space on the TV screen with her sister Laura, something that sometimes caused "trouble" on the set due to the sister's interminable attacks of laughter. In addition, in this soap opera, Thalía had the opportunity to work with producer Valentín Pimstein, the architect of the successful careers of actresses Verónica Castro, Lucía Mendez, Victoria Rufo and Edith González, amongst others. In summary, María Mercedes turned out to be an absolute hit, and obtained the highest ratings, paralyzing Mexican TV. It definitely won Thalía the title of "Queen of Telenovelas".
