The earlier films had at least some fun action, humour and style. This one is boooorriiiiinggggg as hell. Also, it really struck me how this British film makes the WWI seem like the plan of a Scottish man that wanted to destroy the "empire" by this international conspiracy that would kill millions. The "villain" himself is such a caricature... out of the first bond movies. You know, "I'm a psycho. I kill friends and supporters at any given moment for no reason because I'm evil and everyone just follows and worships and fears me because." Actually, all the characters (fictional or real) are caricatures in this cartoon like movie where "Good Britain" prevails because..... well, because they are "good"??? OMG, I would be laughing if it wasn't disgusting to make a movie like that in our times and think that because you include a woman and a black man in the main cast (and you make a quick reference at the destruction of people and countries by the British), you can get away with it.

Such a same. This was supposed to be a fun, superficial movie.

If Seinfeld din't play in it, it could have been far better. He is such a bad actor. So destabilising. Especially, since everyone else is doing a great job.

I expected more from the creators of Black Mirror. This is the perspective of Anglo-Saxons on the events of 2020. And their one dimensional perspective is neither funny nor smart. It just summarises what the "left" american media have said during this year. Of course, "left" over there means right wing, american empire establishment throwing a few identity politics in to seem woke and progressive. Don't loose your time over this.

As a European, I find this movie insulting for the audience. Locations, language, physics.... everything is wrong. A mix of nonsense. No actual suspense. No real people or dialogue. The US is implicated in Europe as " a force of good" which is a joke on its one. It's so silly that they refer to Russia as bordering with Moldova or is it Hungary? Either way, they should have created a fictional state at least because this is beyond laughable. Not to mention that there is no back story as to who created the "phantom menace" and why. Even for a fun Sunday night it's just boring.

Let me tell you that the acting is just AMAZING. Amy Adams is one of the best actors of her generation, for sure. The story is super interesting and we actually learn a lot about the human condition and how complicated it can be. The setting, the heat of the south etc is very well done but the rhythm is super slow. Some parts could have been removed in order to give a better/ more appealing story when others are missing (I've read the book). Could have been 9/10 but they've missed it. Pity. Still a very good show.

This film is a joke.... I couldn't believe that Hollywood the masters of subtle propaganda would make such an obvious anti-russian film. The best part was the Putin-alike villain. We were entertained by the accents, the stereotypes and the story but with that character we just couldn't stop laughing.

The Director has chosen Churchill as the figure who represents the "darkest hour" of every person's life, the period of doubt when you know your decision is crucial and probably you might have to swim against the tide.

The cast, the cinematography, the claustrophobic atmosphere, everything was perfect. The problem is that W. Churchill is presented once again as a hero and as a man of the people which is completely wrong. He was a racist, an imperialist, the worst progeny of "high British aristocracy". He was a politician raised in, and formed by, the British Empire. Churchill succeeded in proving himself a man by those imperial standards, fighting in India and Sudan, helping the Spanish suppress Cuba's freedom fighters, and, after a brief South African parliamentary career, fighting in the Second Boer War. Churchill's promotion to home secretary came at a time of still-rising political turmoil in the United Kingdom: Irish struggles for Home Rule, Suffragism, strike waves. Churchill opposed them all violently.

He was a ferocious advocate of intervention to quell the Russian Revolution, and wrote furiously about the dangers of the "International Jews" (communists) and their "sinister confederacy," against whom he invoked the far more acceptable "National Jew" (Zionism)." The racist said: "I do not admit that a great wrong has been done to the Red Indians of America, or the black people of Australia . . . By the fact that a stronger race, a higher grade race . . . Has come in and taken its place." In 1935, Churchill expressed his "admiration" for Hitler and "the courage, the perseverance, and the vital force which enabled him to . . . Overcome all the . . . Resistances which barred his path." I am writing all this because movies tend to educate people today. So, do your own research when it comes to history and enjoy the movie as it is, quite fictional.
