Wilfred (2011)
Great Show About Friendship.
I never watched Wilfred when it was on the air because I wasn't much of a TV watcher. However when I saw that Wilfred was on Netflix both the US version and Australian version, I had to give it a shot. It took me an episode or two to really get into it, but I really loved the relationship between Wilfred and Ryan. I thought about it a lot throughout my viewing of the show and the various theories that I have heard about before about the actual nature of the show and how Ryan really sees Wilfred as a human in a dog suit. Why can't it just be about two friends who help each other get through each day. They get each other in trouble, and they help each other out (whether either one of them is real or not). It is hard to say if I think Wilfred is real or not, but he definitely helped Ryan get through some tough life issues. It is a great bond that they have, and I would gladly recommend this show to anyone out there.
Nurse Jackie (2009)
Definitely a Show I Chose to Binge Watch
When Nurse Jackie was originally on the air, I didn't have an interest in it. I was never a huge fan of Edie Falco, but this show changed my mind.
I have to admit, it wasn't the first episode that got me hooked, it took me a few episode to get the gist of what was going on for me to really start to love it. Each character's depictions truly represented a real life person. All the characters were relatable in one way or another. You could definitely feel for these characters. Even though Jackie did some deplorable things to support her habit, you could really see that her job and her daughters were super important to her. Even though her relationship with her husband it rocky, she will always care about him and her for her. It is very realistic to see the evolution of all the character's relationships between each other.
After season one, I couldn't put my iPad down. I watched and watched to see what would happen during each episode. I truly love each character and each episode brought something new to the table.
It was a great show, and I would love for it to either be resurrected or spun off some how.
Jenny's Wedding (2015)
Bizarre
So, I truly believe this movie was made in the wrong time period. In this day and age, there is no reason why a family should be in such turmoil over finding out that their child has come out as gay. It seemed as though the whole town was torn apart over it, and I thought it was completely bizarre. The acting was fine, the characters were fine, it was just the story itself. I also think that Jenny and Kitty should have had more screen time together so the family could see how happy they were together. I just don't think it was a very good movie, and it made me really uncomfortable to watch at times. I definitely wouldn't recommend this movie to anybody. I was just looking for an easy going movie to watch, and this wasn't the right pick.
Dancin': It's On! (2015)
Not Great...
I was so excited to watch this movie because Witney Carson is one of my favorite dance pros. I was curious to see how this movie would be because I wasn't sure that she had any acting chops. Well, I can't blame this movie on her. She has some serious dance talent, but the script was so poorly written in my opinion, that no one even had a chance. The dance scenes were your typical run of the mill dance movie scenes, and the dialogue was almost uncomfortable to watch. The story didn't flow very well either. It was so choppy. Hard to follow. At one time the father is trying to keep his daughter away from the dishwasher by getting her to date the head bell boy, and they within a few minutes he accepts it like nothing was ever said between them. Very strange story and hard to follow. The two positive things I can say though were that the dance scenes were colorful and cheerful, and even though Witney didn't need any exposure because she is so popular already due to DWTS, it gets the casts names out there for other potential roles.
