Wagle Ki Duniya (2021)
This is something we all were waiting from a long time
We the kids of 90s know the value of good TV serials, which entertain, inform as well as teach good values to the viewers. The original Wagle ki Duniya showed the true life of a middle-class family and the struggles which it has to face in daily life. The new series has met my expectations and in between the world of high class rich family-oriented Saas bahu drama, this show comes as fresh air.
I was seriously waiting for a show that focuses on the common man's life and its challenges like the original Wagle ki Duniya, Nukkad, Neem Ka Ped and other mega shows of DD once did. This show and its star cast have already taken away my heart, even when I have seen only 5 episodes.
Sumeet Raghvan, (The Sahil bhai of Sarabhai) is too good and equals the comic timing of the original Wagle. His whole family truly showcases the middle-class family with the beautiful mix of relations, feelings, emotions and laughter.
Trust me, we are going to enjoy this show for a long time as this is something which tells us our own stories but in a better way.
Hanuman Vijay (1974)
a good original movie for Hanuman devotees
This movie is based on the story of snakelady 'Chandra Sena' who wanted to marry lord Ram but instead was kidnapped by Ahi Ravan. This movie does not showcase the main sequences of Ramayan and characters like Ravan only come for just appearances.
This movie has extensively shown Hanuman and his wife Makri. MAKRI also clears that she is not a wedded wife but she has given birth to Hanuman's child by drinking the sweat drops from Hanuman's forehead.
This movie is not for those who are looking for main stories of Ramayan.
Padmaavat (2018)
A master piece of Visual art but fails to impress with the story presentation
Hello Friends,
I am new to the movie reviews but still i will try my best to review this movie under the following areas:
1) Plot: The movie as said was based on Malik Muhammad Jaysi's Padmavat , but at places it took creative liberty to make it more interesting. Overall the film cannot be said as a historical work as it lacks that authenticity. Comparing to the modern story lines, there is nothing new; there is a hero, a heroine and a bad guy, complex of emotions and melodrama.
2) Acting: On the acting part i would like to praise Ranveer for his intense acting which at times became over-acting but overall he has done justice to his part. Deepika had nothing new to offer as Padmavati , she just looked like Mastani of Bajirao Mastani(2015) but in a new look( No change in Dialog delivery etc).
Shahid: He could not do justice with his Rajputana role due to his chocolaty face, his dialog looked flimsy and he was not at all impressive.
Jim Sarbh(Kafur): He was excellent as the side kick, his lusty emotion packed face did at times got the full attraction of the audience.
3) Language and dialogs: This was the part which i hated the most, none of the characters did justice with the language of medieval India. There was no Rajputi dialect or even the Turkish/ Afghani accent which i missed badly in the movie. SLB should work more on this part.
4) Visuals: Clearly the movie wins hearts in this. A beautiful piece of art work, especially the choreography in 'Ghoomar' and 'Khalibali' rocked. The film will be an eye candy if watched with proper Bass Sound and 3D projection.
5) Timings/ Editing: The timings of dialog and events happening without sequence made the film boring and slow at times. Editing was OK-OK but not up to the mark , some scenes could have been completely avoided or fast forwarded. Due to poor editing the film becomes lengthy without any reason.
6) Message: A negative message to the society (womanhood is nothing but Ijjat), well the writer could not change this as it was based on original 'Padmawat'. In my view they could have taken a creative liberty here too and introduced a fight back by the ladies of Rajputana and then finally Jauhar.
Conclusion: As an ex-student of FTII, for me this film proves to be 50:50 , not worth watching and not that bad to leave it without watching. We must watch it for the acting of Ranveer with the superb sets and artworks.
Pink (2016)
Excellent Movie on an excellent issue
After OMG, i was seriously waiting for a movie to capture this issue. Although a lot of movies came on the subject of 'molestation and consent' but no one was close enough to depict the things in this detail.
The movie does not showcase what is a good woman, but it explains what are the rights of a woman even if she is not acceptable by the patriarchal society.
It showcases what is an Independent woman and what are her rights , it defines the boundaries that we must place while discussing about the dos and donts of a woman.
Superb acting my the three women and also Amitabh with Peeyush Mishra.
Loved this movie and learned a lot.
