Premonition (2007)
I wasted my time
This movie had the absolute worst ending of all movies. Not going to spoil it, but I was really liking the movie and thought it was interesting. I like Sandra Bullock and have always been a fan of Julian McMahon. They were both excellent in the movie. It was one of those films that had me yelling at the TV because of the stupid things the characters did. When the screen went to black at the end, I thought what a waste of time and I was so disappointed. Perfect example of letting things slide in a marriage. It presented a great example of how not to keep your marriage alive. This could have been a really nice movie but oh that horrible ending.
Forbidden Love (1982)
Dissapointing
If the roles had been reversed and the man was twice as old as the woman, there would have been a happily ever after. Just because the woman is older, the relationship had to end. What a crock! Joanna was weak. Of course she was rich so he looked like a kept man. Again if the man had been rich, an entirely different story. Also if she hadn't been rich and tried to buy him everything, maybe it could have worked. His father was also very ignorant and old fashioned. I was afraid when I started watching that I would hate the ending and I was right. She had a hot young guy in her bed and she kicked him out. What woman in real life does that.
The Riot Club (2014)
Waste of time
I watched it only because I like Sam Clafin, but he was a horrible person in this movie. I saw nothing redeeming in this waste of film. Perfect example of spoiled little rich brats thinking they are better than anyone. I hated the ending. Those boys needed to be punished for their henious deeds, especially Alistair. Even the one decent boy couldn't tell the truth. They all should have been kicked out of Oxford. I'm glad the film stopped short of the sexual abuse the boys had planned and I really feared for the 2 main female characters. Only reason for the 2 stars. The quality and story rated only a zero. It is hard to imagine anyone being raised like this but I'm afraid it's very prevalent in today's society. No happy ending for anyone in this film.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
There are better ways to spend 2 hours
I should have known better. I saw Pulp Fiction, which made no sense. Guess I just don't get Quentin. The only reason I was interested in OUATIH, was Austin Butler. I wanted to see him not as Elvis. I loved him in Elvis and he was okay as Tex. But the rest of the movie, so boring and very strange at the end. My favorite character was Brandy. She was the best. I didn't understand the reason behind dumping the disgusting dog food in her dish. I guess if you are a fan of Tarantino then you'd like this movie, but evidently I am not. Glad I didn't have to pay money to see it. Brad was cool and did deserve his Oscar however.
Elvis (2022)
Austin Butler was amazing
I do not understand the one and two star reviews. Some people said the acting was terrible. What movie were you watching. Austin Butler was amazing as Elvis. His portrayal was spot on. I think he should have won the Oscar. I agree, Tom Hanks as Colonel Parker was hideous but the rest of the film was terrific, although it was more about Parker than it was about Elvis. I'm in my 70s so I grew up with Elvis. I attended one of his last concerts. That depiction of one of his final appearances was just what he looked like. The movie was interesting but very, very sad. Elvis had such great talent and he left us way too soon.
The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone (2003)
Awful
I can't find one redeeming thing about this movie. Other than Helen Mirren the acting was horrible. The nude scenes were unnecessary. I realize this was shortly after the war but Karen had no backbone. I realize her need for passion but really? This was a smart woman. Use those boys for entertainment but don't love them. Why did she keep up a friendship with the disgusting Contessa? If you like this kind of relationship film I think American Gigolo was much better.
In the Heart of the Sea (2015)
Good movie, outstanding cast
I won't go into the story as so many others have. I wasn't sure if I would like this movie but I did very much. I had just watched The Choice and was looking for other Ben Walker movies. I thought is was very entertaining.
The Choice (2016)
I love this movie
I know other reviews weren't impressed by The Choice, but I've watched it 3 times and bought the DVD. Maybe it's not artsy or Oscar worthy but it's entertaining and that's what I want movies to do for me. I love the characters and all the actors who portrayed them. The scenery is amazing. It's romantic, funny and enjoyable. My only complaint was the puppies. The two adult dogs were wonderful and the kids were adorable. I was unaware of Benjamin Walker bit now he's favorite.
The Hero (2017)
I couldn't finish it
I love Sam Elliott but I was embarrassed for him in this movie. He was sad and depressing and it was hard to watch. He looked really, really old. They should have never let him take his shirt off. His voice and cool hair and mustache can only be interesting for a couple of minutes. Laura's character was not likeable or believable at all.
Woman Walks Ahead (2017)
Enjoyable viewing
I suppose if you are a die hard movie buff this might not appeal to you. Yes there are some historical inaccuracies. But the scenery was beautiful as was the movie itself. It certainly depicted the plight of the plains Native Americans and the white mans horrible treatment of them. I thought the acting was good. Michael Grayeyes is very good as Sitting Bull and fine to look at. There was a lot of sexual tension between him and Jessica Chastain but nothing physical occured even though the characters had strong feelings for one another. I knew it wouldn't end well of course but it was very sad just the same. I would recommend the movie and worth thw time and cost and would certainly watch it again.
