When i started playing that god-forsaken game back in the day in 2011, i never would've guessed that the worst thing about this franchise would be the initial medium that spawned it. And I am so glad that it happened this way.
This is everything a video game adaptation should be and so much more. Even though I was really worried that it will devolve into a cringey edge-fest with witty quotables, it rides this very fine line experly of being dark and sinister, but not only for the sake of it. The animation is a blessing: unique, beautiful, and a breath of fresh air. The action and the story is perfectly paced and gripping. The dialogues don't cause me to zone out and get lost in my thoughts. The personal dramas are interesting. The only thing I have a gripe with is that they seem to push my fav character to a path I rather not see him go, but no one else seems to care about it.
I, as an enjoyer of anything League of Legends but the game, had the added pleasure of neurons gettin activated when a character I know appeared, but it is perfectly enjoyable even without any prior knowledge of what's this whole thing us about. I would argue even better, cause you wouldn't have any traumatic flashbacks of getting rekt by one of the characters that are in the show in game.
If you like unique, character driven fantasies in a rich, dark and diverse setting, this is a must watch.
