Finding Nemo (2003)
A movie that everybody can enjoy and learn from.
"Fish are friend, not food."
Finding Nemo is a story about an overprotective father Marlin that has to travel across the sea to find his son Nemo that was captured by divers. On his journey to rescue his son he meets the forgetful but lovely Dory who has short term memory loss. As we join Marlin and Dory on their rescue mission, we also meet a variety of fishes from sharks to anglerfish.
"Finding Nemo" is a joy to watch from the animations aspect to the story and characters. Every frame of the story is to further advance the plot at a nice and steady pace. This film also has a message that adults and children can learn from. Adults can learn how to let go and take chances and the lesson children could learn is that no matter how strong you think you are you'll always need parent figures in your life.
All the characters are amazing and their voice actors, but Dory takes the spotlight in this movie. Between her forgetting everything and being such a cute and lovable fish, you just have to like her. We can't forget about the person who gave life to Dory, Ellen DeGeneres was absolutely amazing in this movie.
This is another classic Pixar movie that stands the test of time and proves why Pixar is one of the best animation studios. This is a must-watch film for everyone.
Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012)
Please let this be the last Home Alone
In this move, we follow Finn Baxter and his family. The Baxter family moved from California to Maine because the mom got a job promotion. Finn is convinced that the new house is haunted by a ghost. He sets up booby traps around the house to catch the ghost. But instead, he catches our villain of the movie which are 3 burglars.
This movie is an improvement over the fourth one, but that's not saying much. It follows the normal trope for the Home Alone movies, a kid is left alone at home and burglars try to steal something and the kid sets booby traps. The movie is just boring everything from the reason the burglars are there to the traps the kid sets. I would just stick with the first two movies and forget about 3 through 5.
Walking with Dinosaurs 3D (2013)
Could've been better.
I used to love this movie when I was a kid, but that's probably because it's about dinosaurs. Let's start with some positivity this movie is gorgeous, the animation is stellar. The story follows the cliché story of an underdog. Now cliché isn't always bad but when you can predict the ending of the story in the first 20 minutes then there's something wrong. Something I would've liked is having no voice actors in the movies. I think having the dinosaurs normal grunt and noises would've made the story a little more enjoyable. "Walking with Dinosaurs" is a gorgeous looking movie with a plot that is lacking.
A Pup Named Scooby-Doo (1988)
Fun show to watch with younger kids
This show is good to watch if you have any younger kids to watch something with. While I don't believe it's the best Scooby Doo, I don't believe it's that bad. The characters were meant to stand out for younger viewers. This show achieved what it wanted, which is to attract younger audiences. I watched this show with my little sister and we both enjoyed it.
Ice Age (2002)
Fun movie for everyone
Ice age is a movie meant for people of all ages. You can't help but be interested in the plot of the story, even if we knew how the story was going to end. The movie does a good job of keeping it funny, but it also added emotional that will make you tear up.
The character were good. The voice actors of each character was phenomenal. Each actor brought the character to life and worked brilliantly together. I loved how each of the character had different personalities. You will love these character.
Alien (1979)
Favorite Horror/Sci-Fi movie
Alien has something that current horror movies lack and that is fear of the unknown. For a good portion of the movie, we didn't know what the alien looked like. Alien builds up tension by not showing us what the alien looked like or what it was doing.
The characters were amazing during the whole movie. They weren't there just for the alien to kill, they actually had characteristic unique to them. Each character felt real and relatable.
The best part of the movie was definitely the alien. Like I said above the alien was never shown completely without purpose. It was moving with the intention of killing everyone on board.
Ridley Scott direction was excellent. From the atmosphere to how the alien goes on board the ship, everything was on point. I loved the atmosphere of this movie, it was a claustrophobic during most of the movie.
This film is not an action film, so it doesn't have fast sequence moments; this movie takes its time and is a very slow pace. But, that is what makes it work.
