Adrenaline Kick

Warning: Spoilers
Hey - I'm a huge fan. This is what I needed and expected. I know the fans didn't like my tough love review from last episode, which I respect and understand.

Negan, Negan, Negan - Jeffery Dean Morgan loves playing this character / and it shows.

How creepy he is. How quickly one can forget how evil he is, while playing darts and feeling his feet on the carpet. How fast, he weaves a compliment - into a blood curling question. His comedic response - that turns into a cold and calculated threat.

Wow - let's discuss the iron. Yikes. Having subjugated multiple colonies, he still has time to pull out an iron and make an example of a rule breaking follower.

Not a huge fan of Karl's acting. I have a hard time buying his threats and anger. I find myself breaking out of the scene and finding his approach non threatening.

I also have to ask. Where does Michone have the strength to pile up 50 plus bodies in the road to make a point...and stop a car? That would take hours.....days even. That is a lot of work. Why take the trouble and not just put a few of the bodies on the road - not a hundred.

I liked the episode. Gave me hope for future episodes. The adrenaline is high again - hopefully they can keep it that way.

I like how the bounced around and showed some other story arcs again.

Other than that - poor Daryl. Poor Daryl.

Good episode - in my top 4. Building up to a big showdown with World War Negan.

Dear Walking Dead.....
3 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Do you like good television? I do

Do you like great acting? Right - so do I.

Do you like a captivating story? Yes. I do as well.

All these things - seem to be missing from this weeks episode.

Let it be clear - I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead. I'm a huge fan of the source material as well.

The first couple episodes of this season are some of the best, on-the edge-of-your-seat writing and pacing television has ever produced.

This episode however, is none of that.

I understand we need to take a step back, lower the adrenaline, and build back up to an insane World War Negan - but seriously? Are we going to painstakingly have to go through each lost character arc this season?

The leads must be mad - losing out on all that per-episode cash, to watch people walk through the woods and stumble across lost groups.

I forget who Rick and Daryl are. It's been so long.

This episode didn't need to be this long. 30 minutes would have sufficed.

I love the direction this was going. These episodes of late have been dragging the season down.

The acting, and character following this week was average at the very best.

Love you, TWD.....please come back.

Fantastic Follow Up
3 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Three things are certain in life - death, taxes and this movie will make a ton of cash.

Not bad for a Harry Potter follow up. I won't run through a synopsis, or include major spoilers.

Very simple - go see this movie. It will entertain you - and your family - and that's what it's about, right?

I really did enjoy this movie. Very fun and entertaining - even for the casual Harry Potter fan / and guess what? you don't even need to have read the books before hand, to understand the ideas and plot!

However, one thing was missing for me - this is very stand alone. In the Potter series, you felt like a student following their adventures year to year with the eventual showdown with Voldemort. This movie seemed to be missing that linear storyline and that all too familiar, major villain, that was in the Potter movies.

This movie is not as black and white as the Potter movies were. The subtle adult undertones on societies current state and philosophies on oppression from Rowling are evident here.

At any point - I didn't really see where 4 more movies were going to be made - and not that you need to, it's just almost become expected.

Regardless - this is worth seeing. Bring your friends, their friends and their parents' friends to this movie.

J. K. Rowling needs to pass the trillion dollar mark. World domination is in striking distance.

Green eggs and hammed up secret service - yes please
2 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. Wow.

Top 5 action movie I've seen in the last few years.

If you thought you've scene it all in action movies, just wait until you see a little scene called "the church scene".

Daredevil on Netflix did something similar last year with a full on non-stop, no cuts action scene in the hallway. Kingsman does it in similar fashion. I would venture to say Kingsman started the new wave of non stop action sequences with what it accomplished.

Worth watching just to see that scene.

Let's start with the good;

--Acting was good --Action was superb --Music score was phenomenal --the not-take-ourselves-too-seriously vibe --the violent comedy was well done --directing was great. Matthew Vaughn has cemented himself as a top director. (DC, here's your chance - grab him)

Not so good

--Samuel Jacksons lisp. (I get it from the source material, but it was as distracting as the plot) --The origin plot was good - but was muddled and confusing at times. --Takes a while to get into the style of the movie. Go in ready to see something different and unique.

Overall I'm excited for you if you haven't seen it yet - it's a treat.

It will make you want to be a secret service agent.

A James Bond it is not - that's good, because it's better than that. Move over 007.

Unbelievably great performances by both leads in this movie - they turn this alien invasion into Oscar art

I could recommend this movie - but that would be like recommending butter on bread. You just should...

It looks great, feels great and is great - performances are solid all around. See and Experience the subtle language undertones that define a culture and society. This will raise as many question as it answers - but a great talking piece.

One of the big questions in the film - does language originate from a culture or does a culture create the language? Are we the language we speak?

Great film to see for any communications college major

Solid film all around.

Strange Indeed
2 December 2016
Okay - lets be honest, this is a strange addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)...In a great way.

I have no doubt the common movie goer will love this film. Yes - some scenes are a little out there, but what do you expect? I remember being so exited to see this film. I couldn't wait once Marvel announced it.

I wont run through the synopsis, but the film follows the source material relatively close. I recommend watching the Doctor Strange 2007 animated short feature to better understand the villains and origins of Strange.

Marvel/Disney continue their conquest for world domination.

Soon, we will be watching Marvel movies, in our Mickey Mouse Underwear, discussing Marvel movies, while eating Iron Man cereal.

With that being said, see this movie. A great independent origin story - also its going to be important in the upcoming Infinity Wars.

Great job again, Marvel - Your friend - the mesmerized movie fan...

Prison...Indeed
2 December 2016
Okay - lets be honest here. Its not extremely difficult to make a film portraying a psychological experiment that was well documented and captured on film.

This film as more of a reenactment - just so you are aware.

Ezra Miller continues to shine as a prison subject in this movie. With the upcoming Justice League Films, and Miller portraying The Flash, its nice to see his work outside that to get more comfortable with his upcoming performance.

So - as the film title states, this a recalling of a social experiment gone a little too far, and had to be stopped early for reason I will not spoil.

The true nature of human empowerment is truly devastating to witness.

If you have time, see this tense thriller. It will however, raise as many questions as it answers.

A great thinking movie. Please don't forget to check out the source material on this study during, or after the movie.

Very interesting, very disturbing, and very enlightening.
