Good episode, unbelievable writing, literally.
7 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's clear that this only has such a high rating because fans of LoL are willing to dismiss the show's poor writing. Don't get me wrong, the animation and choreography, and general story is great, but this is by no means worthy of a 9.7 rating. The ending scene implies that Powder is heartless, even when the rest of the show says otherwise. You can't just make a character inhuman because it fits the narrative, while avoiding the continuity/believability of said character. Powder is shown as childish and naive, and even selfish in previous episodes-but what happens in this episode construes those traits into full-blown heartlessness. I can't believe a story and simultaneously believe that Powder would accidentally kill her entire family and in that same breath hug/join the man who she was defending said family from to begin with. Even if Vi hit her and called her a Jinx, even if Powder naively felt betrayed by her family, she completely fails to understand the scope of what she's done, and it's not believable. Overall good episode, but poor writing.

The Walking Dead: Acheron: Part II (2021)
Season 11, Episode 2
9/10
Better than part I, and more harrowing than ever.
24 August 2021
Acheron is essentially a feature length horror film, and part II is the sweet release of its forerunners built-up tension. With cinematography, editing and macabre nature arguably unmatched thus far in TWD, Acheron sets an eerie tone for the remainder of season 11. Angela Kang and gang seem to know what they're doing, and if they maintain this confidence throughout the next 22 episodes, were in for something truly special.
