Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
A good movie overall in my book.
Basically, this movie did take a different turn than I was expecting. I had very little expodure to trailers to this movie before seeing it, so I was expecting something more along the lines of a Ghostbusters made exclusively for a 2021 younger audience. However, that's not so much the case. This movie seems to have elements working to appease both the generation who grew up with this movie (my parents) and the younger generation who would have first watched the original movies with the context of knowing they are older movies (more like my generation). Personally, I found it quite enjoyable and enjoyed seeing a different take with teenagers being the main focus.
The Lion King (2019)
A great showing of hyper realistic animation, but other than that not my favorite movie.
Well, I will admit, I have never been a very big fan of the original. I haven't really seen it enough to judge compared to this though. It is not one of my favorite movies at all though. There are very few pre-1995 Disney movies I like. That is weird considering I am a sucker for animated movies. But I will just say this was okay. But that doesn't mean it wasn't nothing but a cash grab from Disney. The same goes with pretty much all their "live action" remakes. I prefer the original more personally because I like to see 2D movies, the visuals are kinda distracting from the story, the characters don't have much emotion, and it just seems more original. This just felt like nothing but a cash grab from Disney. I only saw this because my little brother decided last minute he wanted to see this over Spider Man and I kinda wanted to see how silly everything looked. I don't like giving money to Disney for this stuff but I still do sometimes. I did see Toy Story 4 but at least that was a good movie I was fully satisfied with. Plus the story is at least original for the most part. I have missed most of the live action remakes though. Their originals don't interest me so I don't have a desire. As I said, I am not a big fan of old Disney stuff. Nor do I support the monopoly they're trying to make. 3 of the stars I gave come from the technically impressive animation and the other comes from the joke it was to see this movie so realistic. I was laughing just looking at the realistic characters interacting more like in a cartoon. The animation, while very good, is kinda distracting and doesn't really fit the style of this movie. The story judging half blind is okay. I thought the first half was very boring but the second half was decent.
The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (2002)
One of my favorite shows of all time.
I know some people don't like this show. But it's one of my favorites. This was one of the three Nicktoons(not Nick Jr.) I watched as a young child. I watched this along with SpongeBob and the Fairy Odd Parents. I still like watching all 3. I know you all may think nostalgia would play a big part in this. But, while that may be part of it, in my memory Nick quit airing the show often shortly after it was cancelled. I only remember watching it often in my early childhood so I forgot many of the stories and never saw many of them. I only remember a few of the episodes specifically but I still remember watching the show. I wish Nick never stopped airing this regularly and I even remember being mad when they did quit airing it. I know some people may argue the animation is terrible but I don't really have a problem with it. I think it works fine with the style of the show. I think the stories and humor are good and find this to be a good show. I don't really know why so many people don't like this. I think the show may just be aimed at some specific audience. I guess it's just one of those love or hate shows. Well I love it.
The Loud House: House of Lies/Game Boys (2018)
Entertaining. But talking about morals, the first episode I think has a not so great moral.
Overall, I found both episodes entertaining. But in the first episode called "House of Lies," there is a moral that basically says it's okay to lie. I am not really one to care about morals in cartoons. But this kind of moral I don't think is right. Saying it's okay to lie can have consequences. This moral can be taken many different ways. But the way I see it is that it's okay to go around and lie. However, I think the moral of the second episode, which is basically to let your friends know what you're comfortable with, is just fine and actually a pretty good moral and to some extent the opposite of the first episode which is kinda ironic. While I found both episodes entertaining, it may be best to make sure you know about lying before watching the first episode.
Moana (2016)
About the most boring movie I've seen in my life.
Personally, I thought this movie was boring, so boring to where there were only a couple jokes I found somewhat funny the entire movie, yes this is one of those more song driven movies that are with very little humor, it also appeared as the people I went with(which one of them was a little kid who was laying on one of our arms for half the movie and it wasn't late either, it started at like 12:50 PM I think) wasn't that into it either. First, about the first hour before she got on her adventure was extremely boring, not much was happening and it was all just her not wanting to go, actually during this time, I was so bored, that I went to the bathroom and took my time(usually I run to get back to the movie) and when I got out, I actually got on my phone and looked at how "bad" the reviews would be for this movie, it turns out I was very wrong, it has very good reviews and I was surprised. When I got back in there, a little later it got slightly more interesting after she got on her boat, but it still was pretty boring, I even went to the bathroom a second time even though I probably could've held it. I don't think I've been to a more boring movie in my life, the songs seemed pretty generic and I know at least 1 repeated itself later on the movie. I personally didn't care for Frozen either though which I think is the market this is aimed for. This is honestly making me start to lose hope in Disney, I think they've done messed up TV, and now they're messing up movies it seems. I think it is overrated but that's just my opinion. All I can say is that if you like Frozen, you'd probably like this movie. But if you didn't care for Frozen, you'd probably find this one of the most boring movies of your life. I don't even think it's me outgrowing cartoons, I like cartoons but this is just boring, I think it may be they're all aimed for little kids(probably little girls for this one) now, whatever happened to family movies. This movie was so boring, that I was literally able to tell what kind of plot it has, it has a Hero's Journey plot in case you're wondering, I know a lot of movies have the plot, but it's not supposed to be this plain obvious to where I can tell either while or right after I watched the movie. I also think this being about some fictional religion was just weird, like how were the islanders in trouble when the darkness was like halfway around the world, then why would that goddess be that thing that was trying to kill them, it would make more since if we could've saved 10 minutes by her just saying to give her the thing then and that she was the goddess but no, gotta make it obvious about that Hero's Journey plot, seriously. So overall I wouldn't recommend this movie to hardly anyone unless they like Frozen and I personally find this movie very overrated.
