I live near where this takes place. This could have been so moving. As a story about a family and community dealing with change and relocation it would have been fantastic. Expression through art and music. What the movie gives us is almost no narrative, a meandering view into a life but no substantial dialogue. The first fifteen you wonder what the subject is even about. This should have been so much more.

The headline is a girl who is distant from her mom, and shows the family but little interaction with them. Why bother showing it then. There is talk about how they will be moved for the new community but beyond a few shots we don't see anything.

I generally don't review but I had to on this. Saw the trailer and was like, wow great subject! Watched the movie. The first part of the movie dealing with the commodification of america was good. Then it started to veer into a personal journey of Ms Greenfield. While it is interesting how she basically did the same to her kids that her parents did to her, it is not really supposed to be about her. It was supposed to be a comment on America. At 1hr and 45 min I thought it was 30 minutes too long because of that. I was like ok, we've reached the natural conclusion. Then it was self-serving for the rest.

An excellent performance from RZ. She literally is Judy. She does a great job with the subject matter at hand. However, the movie itself is just a straight line. Usually in films like this, it shows how they started and the middle and the end with the character discovering something. In this film it does flashback to Oz and some basics, but it really just shows the last months/year of Judy's life. The character does not really evolve for a natural ending. It just sort of ended. It plods along with glimpses that could have been good in her life but bypasses it for the bad.

A great look at Ds9 from start to finish. Amazing to get the entire cast back (minus Brooks). The hypothetical season 8 was fun and I would watch it. The HD transfers look great and it was fun to look at the show from their eyes as well as mine. Didn't see any political stuff that others are talking about. All they said was if they were to do it now, they would have done some things differently. Sure they would have made Garek gay, he played him that way anyways. That isn't politics, that's saying what they would do differently now. While I missed having Brooks there, I agree why he didn't want to be there. He's said everything he needs to say about Ds9 in other features. Looking at the cut items from the movie, there are a great deal of little facts that wasn't in it. I agree that having Beher insert himself all the time is annoying and slows the pace down. I don't like him but he has a wonderful mind.

The original 97 film is a classic. It was well written and acted. It knew exactly what it was and that made it great. The sequels were more CGI action than writing. More convoluted plots and more 'hey look who is in this movie' stuff. This installment is no different. Loud CGI fest with a story that is so all over the place it doesn't know what it is. I think with a better writer/director and less actiony stuff this could have been a decent film. After 112 min, I was left still wondering what the heck was happening and why.
