Just one thing bothered me...
8 June 2023
The actress that plays the girl he's interested in and the head of the poetry class was off.... Every word that came out of her mouth sounded so fake and forced to me.... She didn't seem to have any facial expressions to go with what she said...I don't know, something about her gave off a vibe that had me waiting for her to say you honestly think I'm that stupid to fall for your games Will?

Other than that the jokes were funny and the part at the end after the seriousness of the poetry Vivian read gave that last laugh out loud moment.

(I have extra characters so I'm getting rid of them here) 😁

The great, good and bad.

Warning: Spoilers
First let me say I grew up with the Power Rangers. I dressed up like the pink ranger for Halloween and got in trouble for "acting" out fight scenes with my siblings. It's the show of my childhood.

**SO MANY SPOILERS**

Now let's get to the review.

The nostalgia is felt right out the gate. I didn't even need to look at the screen to recognize Rita Repulsa's voice. Her whole robot face was not the greatest but she had her old school putties and her monsters were awkward and clumsy just like they always were.

Bring on the cheese!

It's cheesy and that's how I like it. The show was cheesy and keeping the movie that way felt perfect to me.

The suits were the old school suits which I loved also. The old hangout spot even kept it's original 90s look! The fight scenes and acting were still over done right down to the unnecessary screaming with each move. Oh! Zack even brought back his dance fighting moves! 🤣 LOVED IT!

The rangers.... The loss of Tommy and Trini (Jason David Frank) (Thuy Trang) is noticed immediately. They gave a great tribute to Thuy Trang but I wish they would have been able to make a tribute to Jason David Frank. The way they covered up the lack of appearance of certain rangers was... odd...other than Trini, it was like they didn't exist and were forgotten about. No offense to the blue ranger (David Yost) but I don't understand why they had him as the leader role...his character was never looked at in that way. He showed his strength and power through his intelligence. In my opinion they definitely should have had Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones) take that leader role. He had that strong, firm in charge feel. Especially considering he took over as guardian of Trini's daughter Minh. Zack gave the best performance out of everyone in my opinion. Billy....he took the leadership role but still has that awkward and unsure personality which is fine and how his original character was...it just made his part as the leader fall flat.

Trini's daughter...I don't think people will like her. The audience didn't have time to feel sad for her....she went immediately into this revenge mode without really showing any sadness or emotion. This comes off as annoying and kinda selfish.

I didn't like the CGI for the main fight scene. It was like B list CGI and it didn't look right. If it was going to look that bad...I wish they would have done the big fight scene the original cheesy way. I think lovers of the original would have actually loved it that way. I even felt like the song didn't hit as hard because of the CGI.

I loved the idea of bringing in rangers from different stages but I wanted MORE of it. I don't know if the others weren't interested or couldn't but it would have been nice to see a big group of rangers from different times come together at the end to ALL bring down Rita once and forever.

The flashback of Kimberly singing for everyone at the end made me really sad. Especially seeing her with Tommy (Jason David Frank). Apparently even before Jason passed they both chose not to return for this movie.

For me, when it comes to their characters, the little popup short cameo in the remake done in 2017 was everything. Especially seeing them together. 💞💞

Adorable, funny and heartfelt

Warning: Spoilers
I really don't understand the bad reviews. Ok, so the animation is like the current animation you see in a lot of kids movies. It's still decent enough that it didn't affect my opinion on the movie itself.

If you don't want full spoilers skip to the last bit at the bottom for why this movie is truly different and special for me...

I found the voice actor choices to be incredible. Jim Parsons played the part of the alien Oh. His I'm smarter and better than you voice with alien speech of slightly off vocabulary was perfect for the Boov character who is told by the leader Boov that humans are simple and backwards.

The little jokes were amusing to me. As, Oh travels with the human girl Tip (Rihanna) he learns about humans, their lifestyle and care for each other. Something the Boov seem to be missing in life and something Oh has always wanted. Oh is seen as an outcast because he wants friends. Which Boov do not have.

As he learns about the love Tip has for her Mom and how she would do anything and everything to find her, he starts to feel love and care for Tip as a close friend something he never experienced with his alien race the Boov.

He still however doesn't seem to fully grasp these emotions when fear takes over and he sees the alien race that is chasing the Boov has found them. He wants to save Tip and tries to get her to leave the planet before finding her Mom which he promised to do. Tip gets angry because he lied when he said he would help her find her Mom but is now trying to run away like Boov always do. She tells him that you don't just leave your family and accuses him of acting selfishly by not thinking of anyone else's feelings.

I'm a parent but I feel as a child watching this they would feel the emotion behind the last parts of the movie.

When Oh realizes his mistake and stands up to the Captain, Smek (Steve Martin) and the other Boov telling them that the Boov need to start focusing on what's really important, it starts a whole chain reaction of change.

He comes back to earth to find and help the lost and scared Tip who feels like she will never find her Mom. The reunion shows that change is possible with love and understanding.

Oh, helps Tip find her Mom leading the way on his computer that shows a map to her Mom.

The last two big parts of the movie hit my heart hard.

First, when Top sees her Mom and their eyes meet and they run towards each other for a big emotional embrace, I honestly cried. As a parent the fear of losing your child, same with a kid losing their parents is unimaginable. Oh sees this moment and is just filled with love (turns pink). Tips mother is scared of Oh and kicks him away but Tip explains how he helped her find her. Oh, is shocked when she grabs his hand and gives him a heartfelt thank you. This ends in more turning pink for Oh. The music by Jennifer Lopez fits perfectly. It really enhances the emotion of the scene.

The last part of the movie I am going to leave out to not ruin the movie completely. I will say however, it has another emotion packed scene. That is shocking and sad at parts. The scene is also accompanied by music from Rihanna that fits the scene again perfectly.

My very little spoiler reason for loving this movie is I have a son (4yrs) who is autistic. He loves this movie. He loves to act out certain parts and say certain lines which is wonderful because he isn't really isn't talking much yet.

There is one scene, and I'm going to tell you it's when Tip finds her Mom, that he ALWAYS acts out. I'm talking will run from another room if he hears the music for the scene. He will find me pull me towards the TV, walk back a bit and when Tip runs to her Mom for a big hug he does the same with me... (Happy tears) This is such an emotional thing for me because people say autistic people don't show love. This movie helped me see a loving side from my son that I had never seen expressed before and he has had this loving side since first watching it and expresses it outside of watching the movie also.

Evil Lives Here: My Sister Blamed Me (2021)
Season 9, Episode 13

Wait what?! Did I miss something?!?
7 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Let me just say I love this show. Yes, I have seen some bad episodes but this one.... I was watching and I got to a point where she was talking about how her sister kept saying "I didn't take your children away from you." Then in the next clip the actor playing her sister said "but you helped them take mine." I was like wait did I miss something? When did the lady telling the story get her children taken away from her?? I kept going back to rewatch parts over and over because this episode made zero sense. They made a terrible choice I'm sorry to use this story because it is very one sided. The only parts in the story of when they were kids that could even be considered signs were the knife and gun scenes. The rest is typical sibling rivalry. I have an older sister and the things like "blackmail" wow I mean oh man your sister "blackmailed" you for your cookies?!?! I was like seriously?!?! Parts of this story even had me thinking the storyteller was in the wrong for sure. She made a mess with water and you yelled at her. I would get sick of you yelling at me also. Then to say the fact that she made another mess and was evil because she did it on purpose?!?! I mean come on. I mean I have an older sister and I would pull the heads off her barbies to piss her off. This part really had me saying wow... really?! Lastly, I started to after awhile feel like the relationship and things that she was saying involving her brother in law made me question how close they really were. This whole story had me questioning everything this lady was saying. It had me feeling that she herself played a role in her sister's actions and that if we heard the other side we wouldnt be looking at the story teller as a "victim" as much. This was just an overall poor interview choice guys.
