Planetfall (2005)
not worth the trip to the video store
Not much to say here. Bad photography. Amateur acting. This is the type of film where I kept expecting some soft porn, but even that was a let down. I can't give any spoilers because the plot was nearly impossible to follow. At first I thought this was a made for TV movie for the Sci-Fi channel, but Sci-Fi channel has some production values, at least. Yeah, this was obviously made on a miniscule budget, but I've seen some low budget films that totally rocked. A lot of the CGI looked like a video game. Not as lame as Jimmy Neutron, but not up to current video game standards. At least Jimmy Neutron is funny sometimes. Planetfall was just . . . boring.
Lich (2004)
I give this student film a D
First, let's get the bad out of the way: -shot with a camcorder (and not a very good one at that). -guess they could only afford one or two studio lights -just because someone is in your film production class doesn't mean you should let them be in your film -if you're going to show skin, at least make sure the women are attractive -it's possible to make an entertaining film with a bad plot, but these kids didn't know how
Now for the good: -um, um, uh . . . the tied up girl had cute shoes
There were no redeeming qualities in this film. Student film makers using student actors on cheap sets with a badly written script. I would have to give them a D. . .
. . . and that rhymes with 'P' and that stands for Poor.
