Oppenheimer (2023)
This is one of the worst big budget Hollywood movies ever made
Fictional portrayals of historical figures. Talk about Einstein a lot, but never mention Einstein's Nobel prize research. NEVER mention big name nuclear physics trailblazers.
Poor acting. Everyone whispers, all the time, nobody in real life talks like that.
No suspense.
It is all people just talking to each other. Most movies have a sort of narrative journey building to a climax and resolution, but this movie failed in that.
Technical and scientific dialogue is not accurate. There is very little discussion about nuclear physics or how the bomb works. Instead, a bunch of words everyone has heard are thrown in: "The bomb is big in kilotons of tnt...The ball of plutonium will be 10 lbs and this big (FALSE! Actually is ~10cm diameter/radius and ~26 lbs).
They cut the reasons why a implosion bomb was tested instead of the simple gun design.
Read review title.
CODA (2021)
Fantastic and unique, but...
This movie is like a highlight reel. The scenes are cut short, assuming the audience can fill in what happened. A lot of the dialogue and events are implied, but not built into or shown. This let a lot of events get edited into a shorter amount of time. This movie is missing a lot of the building tension of the scene that we get in other movies.
So really, the opposite of a 1960's movie; short scenes, jumping from one event to the next, less time wasted on each scene.
As I settle in to enjoy the scene, it cuts to the next event.
Logan (2017)
Intentionally bad
This movie was made to be an awful movie. The team intended to make this a terrible movie. This movie has the worst action sequences that I have seen in any movie, and it has a lot of action sequences. There is very little context to what happens. The characters have no introduction; they have no names or backstory, except Logan's daughter. The "bad guys" all carry guns, but do not use them. The "bad guys" literally stand around and wait to be killed rather than fight against the protagonist characters. If you want to torture your friends, watch this movie with them.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Written by a 13 year old
This movie starts okay, then quickly goes into 100 minutes of confusing action with no suspense. Boring characters. This is an alternate sequel to "The Terminator"(1984). I rated The Terminator 10/10. It was cute to see Arnold Schwarzenegger return to his role as a terminator. This is like a rewrite of the original Terminator for audiences who've already seen The Terminator.
In Time (2011)
Very interesting B-movie flop
Some things are very interesting. Immortality, but time left to live is used as money. The dystopian world is very interesting, but it set up too many different sub-themes, sub-plots; then non of them developed. . Seems like a movie similar to, but not as good as, "The Signal" or "Moon". The lead female looks like an alien.
Obviously shot in California; Las Angeles and/or San Francisco.
Super (2010)
I feel gross
Main character is a psychopath. Overall poor movie. Had some good characteristics. The overall development and pacing were excellent. The main character has mental problems, so he fight crime by almost murdering bad people. Walks up to bad person and knocks them out cold, severe damage, then says a catch phrase to the dying body on the ground. But he finds a side-kick who is half his age and also has mental issues. Then they have sex and I want to like it because Ellen Page looks great, but it is just too gross to have a 45 year old, ugly, psychopath, bang a cute 22 year old.
The bible character, played by Nathan Fillion, had good, entertaining segments.
This movie needs a remake/reboot. It could have been good, but it just isn't.
Ben-Hur (2016)
Similar to earlier versions
The chariot race scene at the end is legit. Excellent use of shaky camera.

The Sixth Sense (1999)
Amazing movie
10/10, it's just that good. A smooth delivery with heavy, emotional moments and keeps the audience engaged throughout.
