Andor (2022)
Changed my earlier opinion of an 8 to a solid 10
This series is a grower, much like the early years of GoT, slow to get going, as was my interest in it, but once it gets going, I thought it was excellent, then I found myself gripped, you can tell it's for a maturer audience, unlike most of the films (enjoyed them too). The actors in it had me believing in the characters they were bringing to life, hated the ones you were supposed to hate and loved the ones you were supposed to love. Even had a soft spot for B2EMO too. That's just my opinion of course, hopefully people will give it the whole season before making an honest opinion too. Like anything else, watch the thing before judging it as a whole, enjoy.
The Gray Man (2022)
Enjoyed this movie.
Probably not a very helpful review, I am not fazed either way, but I simply took this movie as a bit of entertainment on a Friday night and I was thoroughly entertained. Read a couple of reviews briefly about books, wouldn't have a clue if there was a book on this or not, just wanted to watch a good thriller on a Friday night and this movie delivered. Enjoyed seeing Chris Evans doing something different too.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi (2020)
Best episode yet!
Love this series anyway, but this episode is without a doubt the best one yet, not only this season, but the entire series. Hope this isn't the last we see of the "Jedi" in the series, something tells me we haven't!
Batwoman (2019)
Has potential.
Same as other posts I've read. Not 10/10, but giving it a 10 because it doesn't deserve such a low rating after one episode, that's pathetic. Deserves time.
Patriots Day (2016)
The film didn't need a lead.
Loved this film, almost feel embarrassed not to have seen it before now, perhaps the name of this movie threw me from what the film is actually about.
The rest of this review may seem negative but I hope you get where I am coming from.
At the time of it happening, I remember it making massive headlines and having a huge impact across the world and on me personally, for that reason and in my humble opinion, I don't see why the film needed to follow a lead actor.
The film title could have been a lot simpler, which would have probably pulled more people into watch it when it was first released and the rest of the story would have told itself. That being said, I love the mix of actual footage blended in.
Definitely worth people watching for a humbling experience.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Fashionable to hate on GoT now?
Sad that it seems to be fashionable to hate on this great programme nowadays. Great episode, best of season 8, by a mile, yet it's currently getting 6.9? People need to stop jumping on the bandwagon I reckon.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Take it for what it is, not what you see on social media
Read a lot of negativity on social media about this movie, even before it came out, which i thought was rather bizarre! But as usual i never pay any attention to any of it (or critic reviews) and judge things for myself. If you simply fancy a trip to the cinema and are into Marvel or any other superhero type movie and want to be entertained for 2 hours, then this delivers that entertainment, i can't explain it any more simpler than that. Take it for what it is, a superhero movie.
Elementary: Through the Fog (2018)
Best episode this season, so far.
Been watching Elementary since the start, this kind of episode is why I keep watching, quite often you get a sense of, same old, same old, which is not a bad thing. After 6 seasons they've managed to maintain a good entertainment level, but now and again they make wee gems like this episode, definitely the best episode of season 6, so far, by a mile.
