Secret Army: A Question of Loyalty (1977)
Excellent
One of the very best episodes of this superb series
The plot is quite ingenious, the attempt to establish a German officer into Lifeline is cunning in the extreme
The tension between the lead characters is beautifully drawn
Watch and enjoy.
Sink the Bismarck! (1960)
Lutjens
A good film, ruined for me by the portrayal of Admiral Lutjens as a rabid fanatical Nazi.
Lutjens was one of the few senior naval commanders who was not a fully fledged supporter of the Reich, he even refused to give the standard Hitler salute.
I am amazed his family didn't sue.
Otherwise a decent portrayal of one of the last sea battles of the war.
Secret Army: Sound of Thunder (1979)
Bradley
They should never have killed him off: he was the best character in it.
Midsomer Murders (1997)
Sell By Date
Great series until John Nettles retired: since then the plots have been more ridiculous, the series more laboured.
Dudgeon is nowhere near as good as Nettles, once Jones departed, the rot set in even further.
I think it has now become nothing more than a habit, people are so used to it, they watch it regardless.
It passed it's sell by date years ago.
Brothers in Law (1957)
Bygone age
A gentle British comedy, from the days when laughter didn't need to be generated by expletives.
A flawless cast with some of the most illustrious names in British film.
Ian Carmichael should have received a knighthood, his services to comedy are second to none.
Watch and enjoy.
