The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die (2023)
Should never have been made!
What a thoroughly and utterly disappointing movie.
So bad it should never have been made and is a stain on the legacy of what is one of the best shows of its type to ever grace our TV's.
Why you ask??? Imagine condensing everything that made an every season made fantastic into a single 1 hour and 50 minute movie.
Everything that made the series one of the greatest ever was completely lost in the weirdly uncessessary desire to squeeze that normally 10 or so hours of TV and story into less than 2 hours.
When they decided to tell one last story about the life of Uhtred, they should have done it properly to do it justice. Or not at all.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Marvel are dead to me
Sat through Black Adam last weekend and Wakanda Forever this weekend. Absolutely no words for how much a waste of time and energy these films are these days.
Only give it 2 starts because I gave Wonder Woman 1984, the unquestionably worst scripted, directed, told and made film of all time, 1 star. Kindest thing I can say is its 1 star better than Wonder Woman.
2 hours and 25 minutes of worthless, pointless dialogue and storyline, only to have 5 minutes of action... And can't even say those 5 minutes were any good.
The only time I'll ever be watching another one of these ridiculous Marvel films is if they pay me.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Serene Squall (2022)
High hopes dashed
After all the hype and build-up I had high hopes for Strange New Worlds. Specially after enjoying the version of Pike and storyline from the second season of Discovery.
Only to have them completely dashed and kicked to the kerb. This episode cemented it for me.
It was like a cross between Star Trek and some ridiculous old Benny Hill show. I don't know what to say apart from its simply terrible!
If Paramount had any respect for the Star Trek franchise they would immediately boot the current writers and production team before they moved into the next season.
I always have to wonder what the cast think once they see these episodes come together. Surely there is a level of embarrassment???
I only watch because its Star Trek and in the hope it will improve. But all they seem to be doing is further alienating fans into oblivion.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
So So So So So Bad... What have they done.
The first Venom was fun and entertaining,.
This one was complete trash. No storyline. All over the place. Cant even fathom what the movie was about.
My benchmark for 1 star is Wonder Woman 1984. This got 2 because being as it was only half as long Wonder Woman it was able to put me out of my misery twice as quick.
The little Marvel easter egg during the credits worries me though.
New Amsterdam: Radical (2021)
Embarassment
I wonder if Ryan Eggold is embarrassed by what his role has become?
It is a far contrast from how it started.
