La migliore offerta (2013)
Captivating
The film is quite enjoyable with its strong acting, skillful directing, compelling story, and appealing music. While it may not be the best I've seen lately, especially after watching Thomas Vinterberg's 'The Hunt', which was exceptional, it is definitely worth your time.
The movie maintains engagement throughout its duration.
I wasn't entirely satisfied with how it ended, but on reflection, it seems like the most fitting conclusion, so my criticism might be a bit harsh.
I rated it 8 out of 10 stars because it excels in every aspect, from the soundtrack to the production and directing. In a landscape often filled with average films, this one stands out and is certainly worth watching.
It's visually appealing and has a certain calming quality to it. Watching it was a decision I don't regret.
The Boys in the Boat (2023)
Everything looks perfect.
This sports film stands out for its exceptional focus on the essence of the sport and the unyielding ambition of the athletes to excel at the highest level. In an era where many sports movies often intertwine social commentaries, this film is a breath of fresh air, offering a straightforward yet gripping narrative that centers purely on the sport and the athletes' journey. It's a wonderful experience to be engrossed in a movie where the excitement stems from watching the main characters pour their heart and soul into achieving their lofty dreams. This quality makes it an excellent selection for family entertainment, appealing to viewers of all ages who appreciate the spirit of determination and sportsmanship.
The film, while impressive, does have some areas that could have been improved. The character development, particularly in secondary roles, feels a bit lacking in depth. Certain relationships in the movie, like the one between Joe and his girlfriend, are presented with a bit of awkwardness and could have been explored more thoroughly for a satisfying resolution. A few scenes in the film appear slightly out of place or unnecessary, which could have been replaced with more meaningful content that further develops the characters and their motivations.
Performance-wise, the cast does a commendable job, but the film misses an opportunity to feature a truly standout performance that could have added a layer of brilliance to the narrative. The movie gives an impression of being produced on a limited budget, which might have restricted its potential in certain aspects, such as casting choices. The inclusion of certain historical figures, and the portrayal of these characters, seems a bit out of context and might not resonate well with all audiences.
In summary, despite these few critiques, the film's core strength lies in its ability to capture the raw, passionate pursuit of sports excellence, making it a good and enjoyable film, especially for those who love sports and stories of human perseverance.
As They Made Us (2022)
What an insane cast!!!
The characters just so easily pull you inside their lives and engages with you. They are talking about their problems, an allegory of many households, this movie has a great subtext of empathy, and love and care for others.
The jewish factor wasn't really related to the main plot, but its stiched so well in the story, it comes out very natural.
I did not expect this Mayim, this was brilliant. Looking forward to more of your work from now on. I couldn't have imagined Amy to create something like this.
150 characters are a bit much imdb, please!!!
Sort Your Life Out (2021)
loved it!!!
It is so wholesome and heart warming. One of the best things on the internet for sure.
They are changing people's lives in the sweetest way possible, it is so wonderful.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Enjoyed thoroughly
Tom Holland does a lot of justice to Spiderman and zendaya did not disappoint as MJ. The fighting scenes were all really good. Supporting characters did an amazing job as well.
I also loved mysterio but didn't really like Jake as a cast for this role.
Jon also did a wonderful job with his role. However I was a bit disappointed by cobie's performance in the movie, her character felt forced, the blame for this should also be shared by the directors.
But overall ofcourse a really good movie.
Black Panther (2018)
It's really stupid.
The writing of the film feels extremely lazy.
The first 20mins of the film introduced some really fascinating elements, but only one (kinetic energy absorbing thingy) was still used at the end.
A lot of things are unexplained and exaggerated so much so that it just feels total BS. Apart from few characters the acting is just bad. Also there are a lot of racial stereotypes which seemed very offensive.
One of the worst marvel movies I have ever watched.
Red Notice (2021)
Expected more
Actors are great, shot nicely but the story, sets are just not working.
It just felt too unrealistic even for a movie.
Nicolas Cage already set a very high bar for movies based on finding historic treasure, and Rock also set the bar high with Journey to the center of the world.
This is not it man!!
Satan's Servant (2021)
Simple and funny
It's a great choice if you are looking for some light interesting comedy. I loved everything about the movie.
