Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Self Indulgent BS by Scorsese
This movie is done in a very strange style, almost like a comedy, and it is long and drawn out by about twice the length that needs to be, and is generally painful to watch. Acting is good, but Scorsese ruined it. It's a powerful story and had a lot of potential. If you are desperate to watch something because you're out of other options, it might be worth it to sit through. There are also some parts that are confusing as you are not sure where the character align in terms of good and evil. Perhaps intentionally. I do not recommend that this film be watched with children present. The subject matter is very mature and dark. It's also not date material.
Keep This Between Us (2022)
So poorly done that it's unwatchable
This is not a review of the substance of the story but the series is produced in such a disorganized and ineffective way that it's unwatchable. I had to turn it off. It's more like a documentary about making the documentary. While I empathize and agree that the subjects of the show are victims, they talk about victimization without really telling the story. It's like the entire substance of what happened is completely missing and you're supposed to just watch the aftermath so you can't fully understand it and have to make assumptions. I'll say it again, I really wanted to like this show, but it was just completely unwatchable.
Mare of Easttown: Fathers (2021)
Slow and savory
This is the kind of show that you save her. It's all about the dialogue, but there are key moments that get you wound up. Only two episodes so far but the plot thickens and I'm excited for the next one.
