Dara iz Jasenovca (2020)
Simply put, a phenomenal movie.
Jasenovac was a horror of different scale. Hundreds of thousands of people, mainly Serbs, Jews and Roma, had to witness the horrors that Ustase regime brought upon them. According to Jewish historian Gideon Greif, Ustase regime had all in all 57 different torture methods of pure sadistic nature, ranging from burning people alive, cutting women's breasts to sticking children on a bayonet.
This movie manages to cover a portion of those crimes, while telling a touching story about Dara, a 10 year old Serbian girl from Jasenovac who is taking care of her barely 2 year old brother Budo with the absence of both parents.
This is a drama film, not a documentary and thus it is unnecessary to portray the most horrific torture methods.
The style of this movie is also phenomenal, portraying death as a train ride throughout the winter. Every dead character hops on a train, waiting for it to finally go at the end of the movie. This style of storytelling brought me almost to tears.
The Long Road to War (2018)
A deeply thought out masterpiece.
My face has never been glued to screen more than when watching this documentary. Some of the facts that are stated out in this documentary are often ignored by the mainstream historians.
It shows how this war was inevitable and evidently planned for years. I really don't want to destroy the experience, watch the movie for yourself.
11 Historians from all round the world. 4 from Great Britain, 2 from France, 1 Russian, 1 Serbian, 1 Austrian and 1 German. What a great way of telling a story involving all of these nations.
Prityazhenie (2017)
Excellent movie
A great mix between a drama and sci-fi. I was amazed that Russians were able to make such quality scenes and it just shows that Hollywood is nothing special really.
I recommend this movie to every sci fi fan.
Sedam i po (2006)
Emotional and accurate movie
This movie is a pure masterpiece that will both make you laugh and cry at the same time. It is really showing all types of people that we are facing with in modern society (especially in Serbia) and it is represented creatively using the deadly sins from the bible.
