Fernao Mendes Pinto wrote his book in the 1570s but it was published posthumously in 1614. "The Travels of Mendes Pinto" is an account of his adventures over twenty years in the south and south-east Asia.

The film begins at the last days of WW-II when a Kazak soldier encounters an old man in a devastated German city who hands over the soldier a bag. On returning home the soldier finds out that the bag contains a movie projector and reels of some movies. He starts showing the villagers the films....
