The Last of Us: When You're Lost in the Darkness (2023)
Solid Start
A solid start and how a TV adaption should be done (take note netflix). Apart from a few little things, this show is pretty on par with the video game.
The outbreak scenes are well done and leave you sitting there saying 'just like the game', right down to the burning house and stranded family on the road.
Appropriate humour, action, tension, horror and tragedy. Cast is perfect for their roles and do justice to the original characters from the game.
All in all a great show, only fault was it dragged a little at the start, but then picked up unbelievably. Hoping they keep this standard up. Can't wait for the next episode and an absolute must watch.
War of the Worlds: Episode #2.8 (2021)
Not what I was expecting but great nonetheless
Not understanding all the hate for this show, I really enjoyed it.
In one move the 'aliens' pretty much wipe out all of humanity. The survivors are then picked off by strangely familiar DARPA looking robots (gives a whole new meaning to humane device). No one is spared including children, and as a parent this made the show quite chilling. The sound of mechanical footsteps sent a chill down your spine.
What made this for me it was its pace, atmosphere, sheer feeling of hopelessness for humanity and its underdependence on CGI to carry it. The cast were brilliant in their roles (apart from 1-2). The finale leaves you wondering how they'll do a season 3 but really looking forward to it.
Instant Family (2018)
Loved it
This was cringing but a great watch. Absolutely a must. Really enjoyed this and I don't say that about much. You won't regret it.
Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020)
Shove it out the nearest airlock!
Was hopeful, but to put it mildly, this comes across as a show written by people who obviously hate Star Trek for people who hate Star Trek.

A Pleasure to Watch
Wasn't sure what to expect watching this, I'll admit I had my doubts, but was very pleasantly surprised. Won't bore anyone with BS about character development etc. This is a very intelligent, witty and well thought out show that I've just binged from start to finish in an evening. Thoroughly enjoyable and left me itching for the second season.
Vaxxed II: The People's Truth (2019)
Everything BUT the truth!
Frantically looking to get some MMS online to burn this from my brain. Seriously, how is this even considered an 'informative' documentary. As for 'Dr' Wakefield, the guy has his licence removed in the UK for falsifying research data in an attempt to discredit the MMR vaccine so that he could peddle and profit from his own soon to be released vaccines. The guy had no morals or medical ethics and is responsible for thousands of kids not being vaccinated. If your into all this conspiracy nonsense, own a tinfoil hat and believe the world is flat..this one's for you.
Daybreak (2019)
A swing and a really big miss
I was really looking forward to this, being huge fan of post apocalyptic shows I had really high hopes. The trailer gave the impression of a zombieland feel, it looked like a bit of fun...I was utterly disappointed 10 minutes in, rolling my eyes to heaven time and time again.
Every opportunity was taken to throw a cheap shot at 'toxic male' culture...then again I've come to expect nothing less from Netflix these days. It was more about social justice, virtue signalling and identity politics than the actual show. If the aforementioned is your thing then it's for you, if your like me however and just want some mindless entertainment after a hard day without a 'message' being shoved down your throat..then avoid this horse excrement like the plague.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Great Start
Great start to this new series. I've read a few reviews that slate it for being too political (woman captain, black first officer, excessive Chinese referenced etc etc) but to be honest would you expect anything less from Star Trek, the franchise that has always snubbed its nose at that nonsense.
I've been waiting years for a new series and this did not disappoint. I'm not going to give away too much or go too in depth into the characters and their development so far etc (I'd be writing all night) but they all fit their roles very well in my opinion. The first 2 episodes have everything, fantastic visuals, great action and a gripping story.
There are a few little 'error's' that might rub trek fans up the wrong way that aren't 'canon' but when you look past them the show is very very enjoyable.
Looking forward to the next episode and praying to God enough people get into and enjoy it so it doesn't end up like Enterprise.
