The Shining (1980)
Dont believe the hype
Finally got round to watching The Shining and boy was I dissapointed. Jack Nicholson does great but the story was awful.
Man gets job as hotel caretaker
Family follow
Son can read minds with 'The Shining'
Man goes crazy
Man tries to kill family
Man dies in snow
Man appears in old photo.
Not to mention for no apparant reason somewhere towards the end a man in a bear suit is giving another random a blowjob. Why?
Put it in the pile with others 'classic's i was dissatisfied by including Apocalypse Now...
Dracula (2020)
Dog
Poor makeup, poor acting, poor story and poor me for watching it. Utter garbage
You (2018)
Horrible pacing
I really enjoyed this but after the 2nd or 3rd episode the pacing of the whole thing goes to pot. Sometimes waiting a few episodes for anything of real importance to happen again.
The characters are great and Penn Badgley is an excellent stalker/psycho (although he believes he's in the right).
I'd have given it an 8 if not or the problem I mentioned
It (2017)
Horror? Lol
Gonna own up straight away, I've watched half of this on Blu Ray, and have no desire to watch the second half anytime soon. It certainly isn't because I'm too scated, me and my partner (who scared quite easilly) laughed through what we watched. It was absolutely pathetic and did not deserve any of the hype it was getting around its release date. The acting is fine, but it just isn't what it's trying to be......
Apocalypse Now (1979)
W...what?
I don't write many reviews, but after watching this so called "masterpiece" or "classic" last night for the first time i feel it warrants it, i need to warn people like myself about it. STAY AWAY!, it's 3 hours of your life you'll never get back. I like Martin Sheen, Brando, Larry Fishbourne, Harrison Ford, Dennis Hopper....heck i like all the cast. Francis Ford Coppola is a legendary director. I like war films. What i don't like....is Apocalypse Now. It drags on and on....and on, and then the ending is a complete anti-climax. Robert Duvall's surfing obsessed Lt. Colonel is the best part about this film, he's a breathe of fresh air in an otherwise over rated movie....
