It's 2024
13 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
A lovely movie, but a bit old-fashioned thinking. It's 2024, where older people don't have to take accountability to their adult children anymore and it is ok to love again when your partner has the heartbreaking disease Alzheimer. The daughters who did not accept that their mom tried to enjoy life again, it was weird and cringeworthy. It was really annoying to see to young women with a 1950's mindset. The chemistry between the 2 actors was beautiful and could have blossomed skyhigh if the family wasn't scripted as narrowminded. Did not see the end because of this. So 6 stars from me, only for Rocco and Sjaan.

Watch 1 and 8,
27 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
And you know it all. The firts episode is cringeworthy, with parents that don't set boundaries when it comes to how you behave to one and another. No parent in real life allows their children to act like total brats. On the other hand, which parent ignores their children needs and moves in with their new love, like creating a new family has no impact. So, I skipped the rest and watched the last episode. And funny thing, you don't miss out anything! It all comes togheter, and after watching episode 8 you realise the 6 episodes in between are probably just full of more chaos, yelling children, fights, no communication and lack of empathy. In the end, all relationships end, she knocks on the door of her ex and that's that. The bloopers aftermovie was funnier I think. But I will never know, I've got better things to do then watch the rest.

It is actually really bad
9 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Watched this movie (tried to) today after 20 something year and I realised how cringe this movie is. A farce movie about a lying woman misleading everybody and it's called romantic? After 30 minutes I realised I couldn't handle a full 2 hours again. The whole movie is just so implausible, I can't get my head around it.

The beginning makes sence, but then it just crumbles apart. To top it of, they throw a fiancé in who broke up, has an unbearable conversation, and is married to another guy. You can skip to the last 5 minutes where everything will be ok and the girl gets her prince charming and there you have a fun movie of 60 minutes.

Only 3 stars because the unbelievable spoiled brat the girl is playing. It just doesn't fit in the storyline and is really, really disturbing.

No, it's not a comedy

Warning: Spoilers
And it's not Dutch humor. It's drama. The actors save the movie, but... There are a numerous of mistakes. After your water broke you are not allowed to take a bath or have sex in any way because of bacteria. A cut thakes place during a contraction, so it doesn't hurt. De crazy pilot in the institution is the worse actor I saw in years. And the way her husband reacts after she was hospitalized for weeks, is far from normal. And how about her mother, lord. Or the isolation cell. So all in all, this movie is far from reality in the now. Maybe in the 50's this was more common.

Really?

It just doesn't make sence. From the first minute to the last. The actress isn't playing a traumatized woman, but a woman with the mental ability of a 2 year old. The actor plays a jerk of a guy where every woman would walk away from. He takes a mental ill girl to a stripbar and takes her on a trip in questionable clothes, while she ran away, like it's totally normal. Waisted time, this movie.

After 15 munutes I was done. Spoiled children, arrogant mother, all doing whatever they want, with a lot of screaming. That's all.

So unrealistic
28 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
At first I gave it a 4. But there are so many annoying mistakes in the movie. Thinking your dog is pregnant from the neighbors dog, 3 days after you moved to your new home. A retriver giving birth to, at least 8 weeks old, chihuahua puppies. A woman who can talk and walk like she had a nap for 20 minutes, after being on a ventilator, in a coma for god knows how long. And then there is the acting of Teresa Palmer , wow, and the script. nerveracking. The 2 is for the scene in the kitchen (with perfect music) and the acting of Benjamin Walker.
